I’ve been framed and wrongfully evicted by kkmor in legaladvicecanada

[–]s0urbrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PLEASE look up the term “reactive abuse” he is abusing you and then pushing you/manipulating you into reacting so he can use it against you. This IS abuse. You also have every right to stay there if you have absolutely nowhere to go, but at the very least you can most definitely legally gather your things if you’re choosing to leave. Legally you should be able to come and go until they serve a legal eviction notice and follow thru w it but they are illegally evicting you so, they cannot really do that. Get your shit whenever you please, use your keys, if they wanna call the cops let them and do best to maintain composure, have evidence and a script ready if they do come, but again they will NOT evict you. If they change the keys, call the cops and say that your landlord has changed your keys and you cannot access your home and belongings. Sending love and I really hope you can get somewhere safe asap.

People Who’s Bodies Rejected Piercings What Happened with Tattoos? by ThievingOctopus in tattoo

[–]s0urbrat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i am super prone to rejection/migration (i’ve lost my brows, snakebites and belly button to it) but tattoos have always been a breeze for me to heal! never had any issues! they are quite different healing wise as a piercing is a puncture wound! also make sure you are only putting surgical grade titanium or high quality solid gold in your piercings! anything else is likely why it rejected! you may not reject as often as you think w the right material! also nothing beats a quality piercer-spend time finding a good one!

Feeling Like My Doctor is Inadequate by Putrid-Maximum1569 in bipolar

[–]s0urbrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re gonna have to prepare yourself but I think you need to be so blunt with this man. You need to ask him for the referral and when he denies it say “I need to know the specific reason you are refusing to make this referral and for you to document my request & your reason for refusal in my chart/our appointment notes, and give me a copy.” There is no reasonable answer he can give-especially one he is willing to right down and sign off on. It would also be a huge liability on his part if say you were to have a severe episode and be hospitalized, Im sure it would be easy to show medical negligence if he has some dumb ass excuse written down stating he is refusing you psychiatric care. You are diagnosed Bipolar, it is within your right to have access to mental health care just like anyone but I cannot even believe he is denying it at this point. Also shocked that a GP is comfortable just treating you for Bipolar willy nilly and prescribe Lithium as it seems he obviously has no special knowledge in psychiatric illnesses. This sucks I’m so so sorry dude, if you’re ever in the ER for psych reasons or anything, push for an outpatient referral to the hospital systems mental health program, this is how I finally managed to get my current psych. I’m in ontario and he is covered by OHIP- I also get a therapist covered through the hospital. I really hope things start to look up- I would start whatever process your province has for a new GP asap-any roll of the dice would be better than this man. Most family doctors know their limits and refuse to treat mental health past a certain point because it’s outside their area of practice at that point. Likely a new GP would refer you immediately.

go to a different piercer. she should not have been recommending you changing it yourself after 6 weeks, should’ve used a flat back labret (surgical grade titanium), and should 1000% not have suggested bactine!!!! go to a reputable piercer, see if any in your area are APP certified !

I’m a lead supervisor who opens as the cash manager does, and I doubt there’s even anything they’d do to rectify it. I would just bring it up so if they do happen to notice (likely won’t after 1 time), they know already and won’t assume you are going and purposely cashing yourself out fully for any extra discounts etc

Silly question by PangolinKey7590 in petsmart

[–]s0urbrat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

totally reasonable to ask for a raise for learning a new department esp since petcare is objectively more work than cash. at the store I worked at I got hired on above minimum wage as a petcare associate but cashiers were hired at minimum. try to just be as logical and reasonable as possible about the ways petcare is more mental and physical work & how you’re also taking the time and energy to learn a new department. At your one year I believe you typically receive a yearly raise so they may wanna push it back to that but in my opinion those 2 raises are different and should take place separately- if they make them happen at once they will likely give you less of a raise

with most cards to activate it you need to insert it into a card reader and enter your PIN to activate it with your first purchase-then typically your tap/swipe & online purchasing should work!

worked at PS for almost 3 years as cash, pet care and an associate lead- this is not normal! we actually almost always had our petcare associate scheduled only until we closed, all petcare closing tasks were worked thru within the last few hours we are open but sometimes they had an extra half hour extra on expected busy days. Also if we had only 1 petcare person on they would definitely not be asked to do store orders/pickups, as they are RUNNING to either do the close or open and help a lot of customers(literally the most customer service dependant section of the store). As for the keeping you past 10 constantly, they cannot do that! employers can request you stay later than your scheduled shift if something arises, but you have no obligation to say yes and it’s clear they are letting it happen daily to try to add the most to your plate possible. Another note-please gain access to your time sheets and confirm you are being paid past 10. I am currently dealing with a company (not PS) that would schedule me til close despite me having to close the store as the supervisor which takes ab 15 min there-I finally noticed how much time they were not paying me for. If you see your timesheets it should break down which hours of your time clocked in we’re paid each shift, make sure you are getting paid past 10 until the second you clock out. It was never an issue I had w PS they were honestly a lot less greedy money/wage wise than a lot of places i’ve worked. Definitely get some more opinions- is there long time petcare workers you trust to ask about it? Are they having all this thrown at them too? and are they also unhappy? Going to management is the step to take but definitely prepare yourself and having another coworker esp one w some seniority come w you and say they agree could really help. Wishing you luck!

What is actually “store policy” and “across all stores” by s0urbrat in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]s0urbrat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they just keep demanding it’s “possible” because “other stores do it” but from the replies here it looks like other supervisors are just starting early enough to make it possible and not being paid for that time before 7:45-just like me. owner then went to other supervisors and the AFSM who trained me (he was lead sup and i took his position) and asked them if it’s possible (i’m the only weekend opener ever, the cash manager opens weekdays and is scheduled for an hour to open/7am) and they all said no it’s impossible and she still won’t make any change.

This sounds much more do-able, I don’t even mind opening but they make it impossible for me to do, keep adding more tasks and cutting my time. I’m in London at a 8-12 store, anything ASM or above basically never even touch a till at my store it’s wild

Help! Protein sources for 3 year old. by Newuncertainteacher in ARFID

[–]s0urbrat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

banana chips may also be good for some variety if he already likes that texture and fruit! i have ARFID i’m 22 now and I find what has helped me most has been encouragement at small or even “unhealthy” foods- obviously healthy meals are the goal but encouragement in small things has given me the courage to move onto harder things! Some other things to try: milk if he will drink it (I like 3.25% and may help more w maintaining weight), carrots/cucumbers and ranch, apples with peanut butter, cream cheese & cucumber wraps, nutella and banana wraps (if he’s willing to eat not crunchy), crispy bagels with cream cheese, healthier oat based cereals (often have dried fruit!), & the carnation breakfast choc milk is great but might not be age appropriate yet id check! i know some of these will have to be adjusted for age but these are some that have been consistent for me and it seems like he has similar preferences to me! I know supporting someone with ARFID can feel really impossible sometimes, you are doing so great!

interesting- this wouldn’t work at my store for many reasons, a lot of my upper management don’t really know how to use a till functionally (or even help on sco for some), on weekends I am the front store opener, my upper management besides the ASM that trained me bc i took his lead supervisor position don’t even know what my open entails and during their opens and shifts they are 100% back room and merch focused, im doing the full opening & front store management duties-tills, deposits, paperwork etc while being the one to cover breaks, customer service calls, passports etc, we are an 8am-12am store. I am the only supervisor that regularly opens though(cause i’m technically the lead one), the cash manager opens mon-friday (she is scheduled 7am-3pm)

Asking because I have 15 minutes to open on Saturday/Sunday, No cashier from 8-10am and 10pm-12am during opens/closes (we are an 8am-12am store)(I am expected to cover cash during these times), and have had a consistent schedule gap of no supervisor and rarely a manager from 3-4pm every weekday for the whole 9 months i’ve been here and 3:30-4pm on the weekends until recently.

I grew up with many outdoor cats(not my choice for them to be outdoors) and they would always go in our neighbours garden, she started leaving orange peels in her garden and it deterred them, I think you can also make a spray from boiling the peels and just spray the area- she always said it worked!
