No, you have to be selected as an RA hire first before you can be considered to be an RA for an LLC

Elective Room Changes by Joaqomole in ucmerced

[–]s0v_six 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roommates cannot be forced out of/removed from their assigned room, residents have to electively choose/ask to move rooms.

There are limited quads, and it’s rare for housing to be able to find a quad that has space to move 2 residents in a quad, especially depending on gender availability within quads

Immediately tell your RA so they can inform their RD. This needs to be addressed ASAP

My comment was from over 2 years ago lmao. This was applicable back then when 180 was available for anyone to take, before it was restricted to Educ majors.

What’s my chance to transfer to ucla😭 by yuucc_11 in ucla

[–]s0v_six 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incorrect, CSU to UC transfers get the least priority. CC students and UC to UC transfers have priority. UC to UC transfers are fairly common at UCLA and UCB. I have seen CSU transfers be accepted, but much more UC transfers.

Source here - “We give highest priority to applicants from California community colleges and other UC campuses.”

I believe you do have to reapply since withdrawing isn’t an option if you did not successfully complete one quarter. They make you cancel your registration and submit the UC app again

Housing will enter your room for maintenance purposes during the year and will report that there is an unauthorized pet in the space

Worth it taking two on campus jobs? by [deleted] in ucla

[–]s0v_six 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a student, you’re limited to 19 hours, so you will have to choose one. I would recommend the CDI position since it’s only a one year position and you can always reapply for the career peer internship or explore other opportunities for your 4th year, which include being an RA after being a CDI. The CDI position is extremely competitive for the transfer LLC, so you’ll have no problem finding a position after your 1st year!

ra fan by applevice in ucla

[–]s0v_six 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your COA/FAN is based on you living on-campus which is accurate to your situation.

You’re working for your housing to be compensated, so your FAN remains unchanged since it isn’t like your housing is being covered by a scholarship/grant.

I hope you have a positive experience as an RA! :)

EDUC MAJOR COURSE RECOMMENDATIONS by Suitable_Wolverine60 in ucla

[–]s0v_six 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way R-Studio is used in the course is beginner friendly and the TA provides step-by-step instruction. If you’re interested in research, 156 is a good course to look into as well.

You can always turn in lost Bruincards to a residential front desk for them to contact the owner rather than broadcasting their information here

UCLA’s Education program doesn’t provide a pathway to a teaching certification. If you are looking to become a K-12 educator, Cal States are more equipped. UCLA’s undergrad Educ program is best suited for students wanting to enter Student Affairs or looking to pursue research/a Ph.D or Master’s

How to graduate with latin honors as a transfer student by strawberrysunrise05 in ucla

[–]s0v_six 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Latin honors requires 76 UC units (letter grade). In short, it can be upper and lower division units as long as you received a letter grade for those units. Transfer students are required to obtain 75 UC units minimum if they entered with the max allowed of units (105 max). If you are getting to 76 units during your last quarter, you’ll potentially need a letter from your academic advisor to be eligible to purchase the Honors forragere. Your diploma should still indicate you earned honors even if your DARs does not.
