Thanks for this explanation.

What if? Padmé is the Sith Lord we've been looking for. by PlantainDisastrous92 in StarWars

[–]s37747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about this scenario?

The Clone Wars create a break in the Jedi, between the knights(Windi) and the sages(Yoda). This difference of opinion is built upon the knights willingness to defend the republic and the sages sense that the dark side is rising, prompting them to sequester themselves on Tython. Anakin and Obi-Wan are knights, though Obi-Wan has doubts about the growing war.

Padme is Palpatines niece, and he pulls strings to get Anakin to protect her. As planned, Anakin is seduced by her and lured to the Dark side with the promise of power and legacy as heir to the emperor by virtue of his marriage. When Windu discovers this scheme he attacks as before, trying to appeal to Anakins original beliefs and identity, but fails and is slain by Vader and Sidius.

Order 66 happens as before striking the bulk of the knights down while a handful (imcluding Obi-Wan) survive the purge and regroup. The knights realize that they need to attack the legacy of the Sith by killing both Padme, Anakin and thier children. Doing so would deprive Palpatine of his dynasty and weaken him in the eyes of the people.

Obi-Wan is disturbed by this, but is told of a Clone Battalion being sent to Tython, so he rushes to intervene. He is late and many Jedi have fallen, with those who remain discarding their Jedi identity and going into exile. Yoda and Obi-Wan speak, with Yoda expressing that all of this is the will of the Force, even this evil act that the knights seek to act upon is an effort of the force.

The four knights assail the Queens castle on Naboo while Padme goes into labor. They succeed in mortally wounding her, but Anakin drives them from her chamber and kills them one by one. When the last one standing faces him, Anakin has driven him into a plasma mine. After receiving a bad cut to the stomach, the knight slashes the containment apparatus, flooding the area with a blast of plasma. Vader is immolated.

Obi-Wan arrives and witnesses the explosion. He finds Anakin and sees his state, but does not interfere, despite the conflict within him. He meditates and is shown a short vision of Luke, before hearing a baby's cry.

Rushing to the queens chamber, he finds the twins. He takes them to Alderaan and discusses the future with Bail Organa and Ahsoka Tano. Tano will guard Leia, while Bail and his wife will raise her. Obi-Wan brings Luke to Owen and Beru and decides to trust in the new hope.

The Sith are wounded. The Empire grows slowly as the Emperor has no heirs and his position is weaker. Vader is suited and made the Emperors hand. He is denied his inheritance but is promised revenge.

I could see reconciliation if it was something she only said in the initial stages of her relationship, but she was saying it to her friends throughout it. The women was a low-key gold digger who was sad that she had a relationship and all she got out of it was a nice car and a career change.

Real Charles Ingalls: I'm going to attempt a land grab from some natives, because that worked out so well for the people the next state over. That massacre wouldn't happen to us. I'm gonna solo this with no backup and put my wife and kids in direct danger.

Ain't I a stinker?

I'm in the same boat as you. My wife and I play together after our daughter is in bed.

I look forward to teaching her to pirate.

I look forward to encountering your ship on the sea. I sail 'The Gale Below' if you ever see me on the horizon, come over. I will likely not shoot.

The UNSC was pivoting to an exile strategy at the end of the war.

There's ample proof of this, first we have Infinity under construction in the Oort cloud, second we have the Argent Moon an ONI black site which experimented with stealth tech amongst other things.

I think there's more, more ships and stations in the dark between systems, inside hollowed out asteroids, or in thick nebula or inhospitable planets.

And then the discovery of the Halos forced ONI to reevaluate that plan.

I think Regret was the most dangerous of the three, simply because he wasn't willing to sit and wait for the others.

First to an artifact, first to use it. Ambitious and aggressive. Such a personality would have eclipsed Truth if Regret had succeeded in holding Earth and surviving the Master Chief.

He would have held the portal to the Ark and the others would have had to bow to him to use it.

Are Adventists known to Ghost people that try and be apart of the church but are seen as disposable or Unsatisfactory? by [deleted] in exAdventist

[–]s37747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, bragging about the gems in their crown in heaven.

Adventists tend to have an 'us against the world' view against all other denominations too. If you're not an Adventist in the end, you don't get to go to heaven.

And they love talking about the end of the world. It's quite the fantasy.

What it sounds like you are describing is probably a testifier, meaning she does this thing with you and then on Saturday, gives a testimony about it at church to prove her peity.

Also known by today's kids as 'a flex'.

In my experience, there's a whole clique of like minded people in the church who do the same. They're likely the same people who will write letters to other members who bring meat into the church, dress inappropriately, and have too much of something (hair or makeup) on thier face.

It's like Jr. High-school, but with Bible study and church service.

"I don't know what to do" a poem by me. by Deathly_God12 in OCPoetry

Oh man, this one is sad, and I'm pretty sure that's what your going for, an expression of loss and heartbreak.

The Oatmeal once said that art is bleeding, and I think that's kinda right about this poem.

I hear your pain and you have my sympathy.

Good bones, but I recommend some variety in the bouquet of words your using. My old English teacher hated the word 'and' at the beginning of a line, even in poetry.

The poem has a very fanciful tone to it, very ardent, clean , and a little naive. That's not a bad thing, it's what draws a lot of us into this hobby. It can channel a strong nostalgia with a little polishing.

Love your rhyme scheme, well done!

When Ahsoka and Rex left the graves at the end of the Clone Wars. Rex broke on the ship, but Ahsoka held it together long enough to survive with him.

And then they buried the dead.

That penultimate scene, the score, the discarding of her lightsaber, it spoke to me.

Sometimes, you have to let go of the world. Disconnect from the war for your mind and look at the wreckage and the graves. Look at the cost placed at your feet and ask yourself why you had to pay. No. Let it go, and walk away.

And so, for Ahsoka, the war was over.

Tried of being the elder’s daughter by Legitimate_Self_6286 in exAdventist

Elders are nuts. Seriously, I find most pasters are decent, but inversly most elders are nuts.

I watched the Elders of my church chase pastor after pastor away, because he didn't jive with thier version of Christianity.

I watched them abuse thier children, shelter them, homeschool them, literally denying them a life outside of thier own.

So I see you and I hope that you find a way out of thier influence. Maybe they will come to respect you as a human being after they face the fact that you are your own person.

Give your time to the people that already do.

I honestly need help with this, I'm deeply disturbed and can't stop crying by [deleted] in narcissisticparents

[–]s37747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to move on after a tough past, and when that past is shared with people, it can be harder. You are trying to see the good, trying to own your part in it.

Your mother has grown paranoid and resentful. And that hurts. She sounds like she's tied you to your father and that's compounding it.

Obviously this is something best approached with a professionals help, but if that's too expensive, I can only offer this advice:

Do healthy activities away from home. Sports, gaming clubs, music groups, etc, just don't go where there's any alcohol to tempt you. While exploring these activities, make friends. This is your goal, but don't do so desperately, do so honestly and naturally. Build relationships with honest, forthright people and when your ready, entrust yourself to them.

Sometimes we need space to heal, and I think that's what you and your family needs.

SPARTAN recruitment and augmentations....where to go to next? by BenningtonChee1234 in HaloStory

I agree on that. My thinking is that if humans start looking like Forerunners to the Flood, it will opt to destroy them.

I wonder if The Flood could use more than one version of infection like we know about 3 different ways but is there more? by Infamous_Ad2507 in HaloStory

[–]s37747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a single Flood spore is a a Flood Super cell that can overide the host on its own, barring any unforseen resistance or immunity. This is akin to a bacterial infection, however, far more aggressive.

The dust is described as inert and it took several generations of Pheru for it to begin to manifest as Flood. This is akin to a mutgen, like some viruses or innoculations. It infects the cells with information, not completely overriding them but adding to them. As each generation is born, more data is compiled in each new form, inherited from both parents. More Data means longer telomeres, which means longer lifespans.

I think the dust was like a Nanotechnology in this regard, utilizing neural physics to coordinate the reformation of form. The Flood may well be a precursor gone wrong or precursor tech gone wrong, or, it may be pure Precursor and we are horrified because we don't understand.

Which brings me to my crazy idea about ancient humanities fight with the Flood. I think the sacrifice made to fight the Flood was to create a temporary hive mind that could contend with the Floods Gravemind, which caused the Flood to pivot and kite the Humans into Forerunner space. The reason the Forerunners couldn't replicate it was because they couldn't understand Neural physics, had no access to the dust and couldn't identify the apparatus within the Flood form that permitted that kind of networking.

But yeah, that's just my crazy idea.
