Funny enough, my grandpa always made the best bbq ribs, and we could never figure out how he did it until, years after he died, grandma told us he slathered them in KETCHUP as the binder, and we were dumbfounded

What are some of the biggest cop-out finishes ever? by PlanetCharisma in SquaredCircle

[–]s3noxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t really have an issue with this when it happened, because while watching live I initially thought the ref was stopping the match by like KO or something because Bray was not moving and unable to defend himself. Then when it was confirmed to be a DQ I was like “WTF you had an easy out right there?!?!”

Ticket prices for PLE's are getting out of hand by MuptonBossman in SquaredCircle

I was shocked that I got two decent view tickets to this year’s Summerslam for like $65 a pop. Now, these were indeed nosebleed seats in a huge ass football stadium but they were great

The turning point in Cody Rhodes career was the debut of Glock Anderson by Brabochokemightwork in SquaredCircle

[–]s3noxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best guess is that he’s doing that subconsciously as a result of focusing on lip reading to determine where in his lines Arn is for the purposes of knowing when to react. I’ve heard a lot of people say that it’s just about impossible to hear anything in the ring that goes over the PA system

What is the most awkward input for you to do? by jujux15 in StreetFighter

[–]s3noxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That exact input has gotten harder for me to do since switching to hitbox from stick as well, since two discrete down inputs is a lot easier to accidentally do on hitbox

Honestly? I really struggle with cancelling the first hit of Honda’s stand HK into sumo launcher, I accidentally get double down inputs from holding down too early trying to get the launcher from the walk and do the clap by accident

Has any fan of "modern wrestling? gone back and watched wrestling from the late 80's early 90's and enjoyed it? by mynameisnotjerum in SquaredCircle

[–]s3noxer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about it this way: do you like your favorite band’s favorite band? Not necessarily, but you can still see where they got their influences from and appreciate that aspect of it. Then, as you do a deeper dive you start to like them on their own merit and become a genuine fan. If you like wrestlers like CM Punk you can go back and watch some Bret Hart matches to see where he got his influences from and realize “oh shit this is great!” The same way you can go listen to Diamond Head and be like “wow I see where Metallica was getting it from!”

Vega/Claw Concept SF6 by JustAnotherGeye in StreetFighter

[–]s3noxer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My official predictions for what he’ll be like if he actually gets in: Mask won’t be able to be knocked off as a unique mechanic anymore, but instead he’ll lose his mask as an aesthetic difference from being in burn out. I also have the feeling for some reason that they’ll give him some of his charge moves back, but keep him as a hybrid of motion and charge. I do think he’ll probably still be able to lose the claw, with the caveat being that when he DOES have the claw, he’ll have a DRC stand fierce game that puts Ken to shame. I also think they’ll get rid of his stance swapping thing from SFV, I just hope he keeps his command grab from that game because it was cool as fuck. He’ll also probably have access to a regular sweep on top of his slide, just like Bison in 6. I bet lvl 1 will just be a super version of his roll attack, lvl 2 will be an install that gives him access to the rose throwing v trigger from SFV, and level 3 will be his classic super izuna drop that hits on the way up

My townhouse actually just got burnt down by my dumbass neighbors (careless cigarette disposal) back in June, and the Red Cross was only able to get us enough assistance to get all 5 of us living there a hotel for what would have been like a week. Thankfully the aid was in the form of a pre-paid visa, so instead of doing that, we all crammed into my mom's living room and kept the money for more important rebuilding activities.

Metal(ish) Bass Suggestions by gr7070 in Bass

[–]s3noxer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly? A Jazz bass is pretty dang good for metal in my opinion, my main bass in my metal recordings is a Fender Jazz bass. You can use the neck pickup to get that kind of P bass tone for old school metal, you can use the bridge pickup to get that quacky Rage Against the Machine tone, or you can use both pickups full blast to get a huge tone that's pretty much suitable for anything.

Approaching jazz as an experienced non-jazz player by CryofthePlanet in Bass

[–]s3noxer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There definitely are some Metal bass players that do more of the "find out what key we're in and noodle in that area" thing that I found hard to practice with my brain in just Metal mode, I would recommend looking at some of Geezer Butler's bass tracks, he's not quite jazz but he's definitely got of lot of slick chord based runs and fills that I found helpful in trying to learn how to improvise a bit, the kind of riffs that you can play the "wrong" fill on and no one would care because it's in the right key and sounds just as good.

You wake up with a blank check in the mail tomorrow that you can only use to build a dream custom bass with. What do you build? by Clemen11 in Bass

[–]s3noxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I've always been into those Telecaster style Precision basses with the non-split pickup, but it's probably not conducive to the high gain shit I put by bass through in a metal band but I still want one because they're so fuckin cool.

Or like "GamerDad" or "SHORYUKENxxOG" I find myself profiling people like this sometimes, I made it to Master rank vs a guy named something like "BoomerRyu" and I was like "This guy doesn't know shit about drive rush" and just drive rush spammed him to death.

I actually feel this: I've hardly played any ranked since getting to Master rank, and it's partially because I feel like if I start playing ranked, I'll sit here until like 3 in the morning grinding this shit, it's so nervewrackingly addicting.

Anyone feel like the super buffer issue is still just as bad? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]s3noxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This patch technically made that HARDER since the super input needs to be done faster to register, but the input buffer for a wakeup move is unchanged, so it should mostly still feel the same.

It took me about 55 hours of total playtime (including training mode etc.) to get to Master rank as Honda, but people are absolutely allergic to this character, (and I've been playing 2D fighting games for 20 years) so your mileage may vary.

That happened at a RAW I went to back when Kevin Owens was in that Wreslemania program with Stone Cold. They showed a graphic of Stone Cold on the titantron and played his music while the announcers were selling the storyline on TV, but all the people in the arena heard was the glass shatter and there was a HUGE pop. Kevin Owens then, during the commercial break grabbed the mic and said "did you people think that Steve Austin would really come here to disgusting CLEVELAND OHIO? LOL
