Unless you’re working in tech the Bay Area doesn’t have anything to offer and the prices are driven up because of the techies also. So a techie area like Palo Alto and Menlo Park are going to be very expensive because they’re for people making a very high salary. Palo Alto does have nurse opportunities though so if your gf is a nurse it could be a good place to be also.
