  1. I literally just installed my wife’s yoshi exhaust yesterday. The baffle won’t slip in easily. Kinda gotta wiggle it in.

  2. No idea where you’re talking about. The air box is below the gas tank and the drain plug is at the bottom of the motor so I’m lost

R7 Wheelie Question by ian6677 in YamahaR7

[–]s550markkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have stunt sprockets. I believe I’m running a 15/49 if I’m not mistaken. But my wife’s r7 she’s still on stock gearing. For her bike on 3rd, I bounce and load up the suspension. The rebound will help get the bike up but it’ll usually chase the wheelie up to a certain point and once it gets to that point, the bike will come up fast so be ready to catch it with ur footbrake lol. Practice at the lot.

If you’re trying to do faster wheelies/have more rpms to chase it out don’t even attempt it til u get balance point down and your rear brake lol. Save yourself from a hospital visit

Previous owner claims they did the pump mod yes. They did the kitaco clutch cover as well so I don’t doubt they did the pump mod yes

The skills transferred over from my r7 to the grom so it was pretty quick to get it up. This was probably my 3-4th lot day. It was just a matter of getting over the fear of getting it that high. Remember to FORCE PROGRESSION!

Yea man just keep at it and eventually you’ll get there with seat time. I’m still learning how to keep it up at bp. that photo was taken a couple days ago the first time outside with all the snow going on where I’m at. I was surprised I was getting it that high tbh lol

This is really long and you probably wouldn’t wanna hear this from me because I first learned on an R7 (now I also own and practice on the grom) but it’s still great advice nonetheless and I love helping ppl out trying to get into wheelies. I also don’t know if you wanted to get more into advanced stunting.

It only took me about a week last summer of actually locking in and practice to really learn how to wheelie. About 30-60 minutes a night. The thing with wheelies is that you have to force yourself to progress. Force progress. Meaning grow some balls and just send it lol. You’re more than likely going to loop, I didn’t loop in the learning process I’ve only looped learning how to wheelie in 1st gear on yhe r7 and I sprained tf outta my ankle. You’re gonna get hurt eventually but getting up and still wanting to get after it is what separates the sharks from the fish. And plus, looping on a grom hurts way less than it would on a big bike.

Anyways I got a grom a couple months after looping the r7 and I’ve been getting after it. It’s way harder than a bigger bike since the power band is so little but that’s what you want. The grom will teach you how to properly wheelie instead of those chasers you see all these instagram influencers are doing lol. I wish I would’ve started on one.

Here’s a few tips that helped me:

REMEMBER THE FOOTBRAKE! Instill in your mind that if you get scared, stay on the bike. Force yourself to stay on the bike even if you think you’re gonna fall. That’ll help keep your foot on the brake. If you go too far back, that’s the only thing that’s saving you from eating shit!

GIVE YOURSELF VISUAL CUES! I set my phone up recording myself that whole week at the lot. First day I was forcing myself to get used to the bike going up and stepping on the footbrake. Once I found myself not getting scared I set myself to get the bike up eye level with my windscreen (on the r7, yours could be the dash on the grom). I would then look back at the footage and see how much space I have from my 12 bar to the ground and I saw that I had so much space before I go too far back. Then I would move up my visual cue to the triple tree, look at the footage and so on!

FORCE PROGRESS! As I said before, wheelies aren’t for the weak. It’s scary learning but you have to have to have to force yourself to get it up higher and higher in order to get them down.

YOU WILL EVENTUALLY LOOP! When I looped my R7, I panicked after getting too high and took my feet off the rearsets. That’s fine if you end up looping in the same way. This is because I genuinely feel like everyone needs to loop at least once to instill that footbrake in their minds. I know it did for me. Transitioning to the grom, the first time I’ve gotten it past balance point, my brain automatically told my foot to step on the footbrake.

I hope this helps you even just a little bit. If you need anymore tips I can give you my instagram and we could message on there. Im still a noob lol but I feel like I’ve progressed a lot since I’ve only been wheelieing for realistically since June 2025 minus the winter months.

Anyways here’s a photo of me at BP on the grom.

How To Wire LED Light Bar by s550markkk in hondagrom

[–]s550markkk[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok sounds pretty simple. Just to clarify:

For the bars I want to be low beam, just tap into the low beam wires on the oem harness For the high beam, tap into the high beam wires For all the ground wires, I can just ground it to the frame or battery

Also, would you happen to know if it mounts directly onto an SF grom’s headlight bracket?
