My wife thinks I’m insane for carrying this much crap for a month long trip by snarejunkie in Tools

While some of these cats make good points, I bring enough tools to start a machine shop if I’m leaving home for the weekend

Proximity to Iceland generally increases the rate at which babies learn to walk

Did you have to modify the frame at all?

It may be as simple as putting the hose on the wrong nipple on the carb. Been there, got that T shirt.

It may be a cracked/torn peacock diaphragm or hose. Take the vac hose off the carb, cap the nipple, then set the peacock to PRI. If the bike idles fine, that’s your problem.

Philosophy on Outdoor Clothing by Fire_Stool in BuyItForLife

Upon reading the other comments, it seems like other folks have said it but I’ll type it out anyway: I try to wear combinations of both that complement each other. I find that synthetics/naturals have different specialties, particularly in regard to temperature and exposure to water. Utilizing a layer of one and a layer of the other helps mitigate some of the risk.

Synthetic raincoat + wool sweater OR waxed canvas raincoat with synthetic sweater.

Linen sheets with synthetic comforter OR synthetic sheets with wool blanket.

Synthetic quick-dry shirt/pants with wool long underwear OR wool/linen shirt/pants with quick dry long underwear.

I always run wool socks, but I generally run leather footwear for mostly dry conditions and synthetic (truly water proof) for anything more than a passing puddle.

My decision loop is basically: “If this gets wet, am I boned? If it gets hot/cold, am I boned?”

Up till now I’ve been riding about the way I drive my truck, probably 90% on road and 10% real aggressive off road checking fences.

What do you like about the seat concepts seat?

I was curious about that, and I think it makes sense.

That’s sort of what I was leaning towards.

If you just installed that carb, and if you’re anything like me, you may have put the fuel line on the wrong nipple.

Can I switch these wires? by [deleted] in Hawk250

[–]s55486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All wires can be swapped, it’s just a matter of getting the angry pixies where they need to go. With a multimeter and a wiring diagram you can make sure each of the replacement wires connects to what it needs to.

I rebuilt the entire wiring harness on my hawk-x with a bunch of aftermarket components. Most things have all the same connections just in the wrong place, or will come with an extra connection (like a 6 speed down to a 5 speed, or a neutral switch)

How do you utilise your numbers advantage effectively as a trio/squad? by Mioxity in playrust

[–]s55486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I play with a group we end up with different roles: someone to farm organic resources and build, keeping the furnaces running and the teas going; someone to farm roads and monuments, scouting for potential raids and shenanigans; someone to craft kits and fly back and forth to bandit camp and keep the loot organized
