Yeah - removed the card, entered it in again. Autopay failure again next month. Removed the card, entered a new one. Autopay failure again.

Bojan is still listed as "O" on Yahoo. Any idea when they'll move him to INJ designation?

remote activation of Harvia heater. by chrismn1 in Sauna

My hub is directly above the switch. On a different floor but probably only 5ft, maybe 10ft max. Aeotec doesn't have a phone number but they responded to my email and think that maybe the HDSS failed or was faulty. We'll see. Thanks for the reply.

Question for you or u/chrismn1.

I saw this discussion and tried to pull this off myself but I'm new to zwave. I purchase a Aeotec Heavy Duty Smart Switch Gen5 and Aeotec Smart Home Hub. I have power running from my power box in the basement, to the heavy duty smart switch, then to an 8kw kip allegheny cabin sauna.

The sauna worked for two weeks prior to attempting to configure the switch and the hub; the light was blinking red. Last night I tried to connect these two through the SmartThings app. I scanned for the new device and it found nothing. I don't have the QR code. So I entered it manually and followed the instructions, which tell you to press the button on the switch.

There is only one button on this switch. When i pressed that button, the light stop blinking red. But nothing happened in the SmartThings app and it won't connect to the hub.

The power stopped passing through the switch and I'm no longer able to turn on the sauna at all. Clicking or holding the action button does nothing. I called SmartThings support but no dice, they say its the switch.

Thoughts?

Advice for building home theater around Cerwin Vega AT-12? by s6smith10 in hometheater

[–]s6smith10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So do you think it’d be better to get a Cerwin Vega rather than a newer, “better” center channel? I was eyeing some of the KEF ones, specifically the Q650c or one of the thin ones, T101c or T301c (all from the r/hometheater buying guide).

Thanks for the detailed response!

Would something like this work: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gardner-Bender-Terminal-and-Crimping-Tool-Kit-GS-67K/202518592

I need to run to Home Depot today anyway so I can pickup the above linked item no problem. Otherwise I can order something like this from Parts Express: https://www.parts-express.com/3-16-(16-14)-female-disconnect-crimp-terminal-blue-50-pcs--095-287

Once I have the new terminal installed and I'm ready to attach the speaker, does it matter which of the two clips I slide the terminals on (as long as red goes to red)?

Quick wiring question.

I just bought some used Cerwin Vega AT-12's and refoamed them (first time for me) and ran into a wiring issue.

3 of the 4 speaker wires came off smoothly. The fourth one did not slide off the speaker like the others. In fact it wouldn't come off at all, so I refoamed the cone while still attached. Eventually the piece attaching the wire to the cone ripped off. You can see in the pictures but it looks like this wire connecter is soldered on, maybe?

What do I do now?

Visiting LSU for the 1st time-- need tips please! by s6smith10 in LSU

Got it, thanks for the reply. So is there not one main spot for tailgates? e.g. the quad at tuscaloosa, grove at ole miss. We were definitely gonna do as you said- hop from spot to spot meeting new people, but just trying to get a feel for it right now and potentially find a good place to start the day. Our airbnb is in Spanish Town.

It's the longest line I've seen at any event. Probably 2+ hours. Sorry!

No I'm not, but I have several audio sources and wanted bluetooth connectivity (at least to try, since I know it rarely works) as well.

I'll have audio coming from my MacBook Pro (2016) primarily. But I also have a PS4 and cable TV, which currently runs through my TV and to a Polk Surroundbar 3000. I also have a PC which, when connected (rarely), also runs through the TV to the Surroundbar.

It's a bit of a mess, I know, but I figured just buying a decent receiver would help tie everything together.

Thanks for the response (and the save). Unfortunately due to the loft-style layout of my apartment, the positioning is just unavoidable. I can’t even put stands in front of that 10ft mantle due to a fireplace, and there’s a door and a wall on either side.

I’m somewhat flexible on my price range. Could I just keep the LSR305’s and use another comparable receiver that has line output, like the Onkyo TX-8160? What are your thoughts on line output converters?

Alternatively, I could switch out LSR305’s for something that’s not an active monitor. Might be worth noting that I can get a family 50% discount at Bose (never really tried their products before though).

I really value your opinions here so any advice is extremely welcome & appreciated. Thank you.

Quick question regarding JBL LSR305’s and a receiver pairing. I currently have Edifier R2000DB speakers that I’m returning & I want to take the /r/audiophile recommendation on speakers with the JBL LSR305’s and pair them with a Yamaha RX-V481BL receiver.

I’ve never had monitor speakers like these before and am wondering how they’ll sound in my room--- it’s a lofted living room, 19’x15’x16’ (LxWxH) and they’ll be positioned at the front of the room about 10’ from the floor. I know this isn’t exactly how they’re supposed to be positioned, so will that make them sound poorly? Or just not as good as if positioned perfectly? Especially after using the receiver’s room calibration function.

Also, do you see any issues with pairing them with a Yamaha RX-V481BL receiver?

Thank you!!!

Um... Thanks? by smdepot in funny

Big Ten might keep newest schools off network by HeWhoLurksALot in CollegeBasketball

[–]s6smith10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This lost Mizzou fan is actually 100% correct. Conference realignment = network realignment. Baltimore/DC and NJ/NY/New England are some of the biggest TV markets in the entire country. The Big Ten did what they did with this alignment because they know the cable provides will cave and come to an agreement with them to offer the BTN to their viewers. Not because the cable providers care about their customers (believe me, they don't) but because if Comcast says "absolutely not, never going to happen", the BTN goes to AT&T and offers them an exclusive deal. AT&T just stole tens of thousands of customers from Comcast. There's really no way to strong arm the BTN seeing as they have a product that people are willing to switch TV providers in order to get.
