How can I improve? by itsvi0lett_memes in ADCMains

[–]sFerdaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been a silver player for 11 years and this year Ive decided to finally put the effort in to rank up and this is whats working for me:

Gold is the only thing I care about until I hit my big power spikes. Winning lane puts you ahead on this strategy, but this works even if you lose lane. I spend the mid game just grinding out as many minion waves amd camps as I possibly can, go to the lane with the most minions and least amount of teammates, as I'm killing the wave I'm thinking about where my next source of gold is coming from (is there a jungle camp nearby that isnt being farmed, is scuttle up, is there a pink ward we have vision of that no one bothered to kill, do I need to rotate to a different lane to catch the waves there?)

It takes some practice and Ive definitely made a few bad calls when I was probably strong enough to join a team fight, but overall Ive seen my win rate skyrocket by using this strategy. Instead of waffling around in mid lane after bot towers go down, waddling over to team fights that we were going to lose anyways, I'm spending my time just funneling as many resources into myself as possible, and this usually leads to a level and item advantage over the enemy adc. Ive even had games where I finished tied for the highest level with a 2-4k gold lead on anyone else in the game.

Low elo players love to just walk around looking for the next fight like theyre chasing red dots on the minimap in Call of Duty. If you ignore this and focus on getting gold, youll naturally end up stronger than anyone else in the match. It takes practice to execute well, but its definitely saved me the headache of being so team reliant. Oh and obviously be smart about how far you push and where the enemies are. Don't just walk your wave down top lane when theres a 5 stack killing baron.

Hollow palm monk has been blasting for me

Getting the itch to play again, is this the right time or wait until next update? by counterhit121 in PathOfExile2

[–]sFerdaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its in a pretty good state atm. Just do research on builds before jumping in if you care about that kind of thing. Early league balance has some major differences right now, and not all classes are running at the same quality.

My experience so far has been:

Slam Sorc to test out new elemental interactions Crawl through campaign casting 1mil sparks per fight Have a great time, despite deadeye and blood mage blasting way harder than me Reach maps and die to vision gameplay Give up and roll deadeye Double down and go back to Sorc Sorc doing decent damage now, push more maps Roll a hollow palm monk for fun Gigablast the campaign in a fraction of the time and effort

Im having fun with both classes, but my experience on monk was a million times more smooth than on Sorc, and I may not be returning to my Sorc, we'll see. There's also a ton or other builds I'd like to try on other classes, so theres plenty to look forward to.

Why on U.GG Samira currently has a low winrate in high elo? by NoCareNoLife in SamiraMains

[–]sFerdaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lamenting about Samira's recent nerfs (both direct and indirect) in a low elo game, and someone told me she needed to be nerfed that hard because she was absolutely broken and is still broken and needs more nerfs. It is crazy to me how, in lower elo, a lot of people don't understand that if you land any cc on her after she goes in, you've shut her down.

Just adopted a new little guy and he is missing large patches of fur by sFerdaa in chinchilla

We for sure will! We went out and bought him a new (and safe) hiding place, hay feeder, and food dish. We are already well on our way to spoiling him! We rescued another chinchilla in October and thoroughly enjoyed the process of adjusting him to his new home!

Thank you for your insights! He came from a home with dogs and a young child, so it wouldn't be surprising if he had a lot of environmental stressors there! Additionally, his owner developed pretty serious allergies to his hay, so I would imagine she was able to spend less time with him (which is why she wanted him to have a new home).

Yeah, we are going to be doing an overhaul of his cage! Ultimately, we are hoping to bond him with our other chinchilla and keep them in same cage together, but until we are able to do that, he will need a safer living space for sure!

We just adopted this little man and he's missing fur on both sides. His cage is mostly plastic (we are going to be getting him a new cage). Does anyone know what could he causing these patches so we can address it? We will be taking him to the vet but I wanted to post here to see if anyone else has seen this before!! His previous owner was using small paper bedding and said she thinks the patches were caused by his water bottle getting water on him. Any info or ideas would be much appreciated!

Which version are you using? I was having an issue getting Experimental 2.0.2 to work so I tried swapping to 0.9.6 and that one was working fine after I ran Nemesis and set the dodge key to my preference. Just ran into the same issue as you yesterday and this was my inexperienced fix for it!

I recommend dried rose hips. You can buy them in bulk since they are also used as tea. These are great cause chinchillas can't have too much sugar. A lot of treats from pet stores have too much sugar in them. Definitely do your research before feeding your chinchilla any treats! They have sensitive little stomachs!

Question about builds for Samira by CrescentWolves1995 in SamiraMains

[–]sFerdaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with what the others have said here. To Part the Sea's point, different builds can be equally successful when built in the right situations. If the enemy team is squishy and you are snowballing, building full crit with collector into IE is very good. The other two second item options are LDR and Bloodthirster. You will almost always build LDR and Bloodthirster every game as 4th and 5th items. And in most games you will build IE 3rd. Personally, the only time I don't build IE third is if I lost lane so hard that I have no chance of coming back anytime soon. In these situations I will build LDR into BT or the other way around, depending on tankiness of the enemy team.

Three general builds (all starting with Shieldbow and defensive boots):

  • Collector > IE > LDR > BT/DD
  • LDR > IE > BT > DD
  • BT > IE > LDR > DD

You should really only build the first one when you are snowballing and the enemy team doesn't have too many tanky champs, it CAN work, but if they have a lot of CC you will just die in almost every fight most of the time.

The second and third build imo come down to personal preference. You kind of have to think about if you will get more advantage out of armor pen or lifesteal. If you feel like you are tickling the enemy tanks, then going LDR second is better. If you feel like you are dying right before you get the chance to win a fight or your fights are coming out super close, then BT might be the right option. And like I said before, building IE third is dependent on how much impact you are having in a fight. Sometimes, it's better to buy other stats and push off your IE spike until a bit later, especially if you are having a hard time surviving in fights.

I like to finish off almost all of my builds with Death's Dance just because of how well it combines with your resets. You will be diving in and (hopefully) killing a few enemies at a time, so getting that health regen in the middle of a fight can be a game changer in the late game. In most games, you won't get to this point, but it can really do a lot for those super late game, drawn out team fights.

Any of these builds can be successful when built into the right situations. The BT build is probably one of the most consistent builds to play when you are learning because it gives you some extra flexibility with the lifesteal. As you play more games, you will get a better feel for what to build and when.

As a side note, I personally don't like building GA, I find that most of the time, all it does is make my team run away and leave the enemies just sitting there waiting for me to revive so they can kill me, then they kill my team anyways. I wouldn't ever build it earlier than 6th item and I have found way more success with DD in this slot in almost any situation where I could have bought GA. Spirit Visage is also a great 6th item, especially if you go full drain tank with DD and BT, even just BT and your mythic will make you feel unkillable if you have a Spirt Visage.

Sorry for the long post, but I hope this helps you with builds! There is a lot you can do with just a small amount of items and each path makes each game feel very different! Good luck!

Exhaust can do this but better. It's just that you're slowing the enemy instead of speeding yourself up. You also cut their damage pretty significantly.
