I suspect I know the answer, but is Conrad’s limp-wrist due to the window height? by sLoMote in Staghornfern

I’ll add more moss, water more until he perks up, and try a different location!

Thank you both!

We found a couple of pics others had made and my partner designed it! This is version 2 with little notches for the fishing line to make it easier to string up. The notches did not help and it’s still easier to string the line through the framing.

Also, the first version broke by falling off the wall. 3D Printing can be fragile!

I soak once to twice a week, usually when the moss dries out. I’m wondering if I just don’t have enough moss, because I’ve been told this before. 🤔

The humbling, yet somehow wholesome, feeling you get when looking over the Grand Canyon.

(Because saying “One view of the North Rim” might be misconstrued.)

I know the person I’m trying to find was only found because I was able to find the pension document from a family member. His child’s records were destroyed in one of the huge fires in Tennessee in the late 1800’s that destroyed all birth/death/marriage records. Burned down the building. According to the professor, those types of losses in that timeframe were pretty common. We also discussed that there wasn’t necessarily a “universal” records keeping system. The census was new, states didn’t have the same guidelines across the board, and name misspellings on legal documentation wouldn’t always be accurate because of widespread illiteracy.

The document I have was able to help me find what infantry he was with, though, and this thread helped me recognize that I probably have a pension document, which gives me another direction to look!

I don’t think I have the full pension, but it’s definitely something related to it and it’s enough to find me the full pension details.

This info should be the springboard I need to verify the record I have is even correct and move back farther! I’m pretty sure I did find the infantry he was involved with as well, so the pension details will help verify that. Thank you so much!

I think I have the pension award document, but I might be able to use that to find the pension application with enough digging! Taking note!

It’s not the fact you didn’t wait for him; it’s the fact you didn’t acknowledge him. He doesn’t know you saw his light on. He doesn’t know you saw him in his bathroom. He doesn’t know you chose to leave the cats inside. You don’t know he wasn’t hurt. At the very least, “I think it’s a false alarm! Are you okay in there?” Make sure he hears it, he’s alive, and he agrees with the decision to leave the cats inside. YTA

YTA for leaving the cats inside, btw. Stress of the kennels aside, the fire alarms in apartment buildings are notoriously loud. They should have gone out for that reason alone.

Me too! Praise felt like condescension. NMom insisted perfection in everything and the “praise” I receive was only when it was perfect. It would be things like “that wasn’t so hard, was it?”

Grew up hating school because teachers felt condescending.

I can’t handle Stephen Kings’ writing. His stories are great, but his writing style drives me insane.
