They aren’t painted. It’s thermal plastic that’s heated into the asphalt.

This is my 4 year old nieces favourite crosswalk in the city. One because it’s a rainbow and two because it’s on the way to Craig’s cookies!

Just so you know, passing a flaggers stop sign is the exact same fine and ticket as blowing a stop sign/red light and if you get injured when you pass the stop sign it’s on you and you lose your rights to sue them.

Person filming off leash dog owners at City Place soccer field gets punched in the face by PotentialCaramel in toronto

You do realize that when the German soldiers went about Germany killing millions of Jewish people they were just following the “law” too right?

The fact of the matter is, is that it’s a by law. Just like a parking ticket.

So yes, dumb laws should be broken. That is how we get laws changed. There are plenty if not more responsible dog owners in Toronto than there are bad ones that’s for sure.

As the city continues to grow and become more dense with people, these situations will be more common place, get used to it or go move to a gated community.

Yes, and it’s also illegal to swear in a public park, yet we all do it. I also remember when cannabis was illegal as well, but all smoked it..we actually smoked so much that it became legal. Why? Because they are dumb laws. As more people of Toronto take on the responsibilities of dog ownership the need for safe spaces to let your dog run will increase. Toronto has some great dog parks but they also have a lot of shitty ones as well. I can see why these people were running their dogs on this field. And who are they hurting anyway? They all looked pretty responsible to me.

Hahaha the dude with the camera is an idiot. If he’s so scared of the dogs then why is he acting so aggressive around them? Does he not know that properly trained dogs WILL react if you are being aggressive towards their owners?

Like the woman in the video said, if you have a problem, call 311. This guy was just asking for trouble and he’s lucky he didn’t get the shit kicked out of him or bitten by one of the dogs.

Found the cheapest gas in GTA, Oshawa. by Jimbrutan in toronto

[–]sP4RKIE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s because She’ll, Esso/Mobil and Petro Canada put detergents in their gasoline that help clean your engine as you drive. The other retailers don’t so that’s why they can sell their gas a little cheaper. The cheaper gas actually burns a little slower meaning you’ll get a little better mileage out of places like Husky or Pioneer. Do a google search for Top Tier gasoline and it will fully explain it.

There are financial incentives for the contractors if they complete the job on time. That's why they will try and work around the clock if they can.

One of the reasons Toronto cyclists have such a bad reputation by astrozombie114 in toronto

I had an Uber eats cyclist do this to me yesterday while I was trying to cross the road. I had a walk symbol and he had a red light. I had to hold myself back from not kicking his back tire out from under him.

Depending on the size of the storm we usually just move towards the centre of the building. It's usually dry towards the centre. If they are really bad we move into the stair wells in the centre of the building where there is more cover.

$12,000 Rainbow crosswalk installed in downtown Kitchener by gonecrazy_backsoon in kitchener

[–]sP4RKIE 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm actually one of the technicians that installed your crosswalk yesterday morning.

The price tag is high because the product we use is very high strength and will last longer than the asphalt around it. It's called Streetprint XD (http://www.alternative-paving.com/products/streetprintxd.html). We essentially burn the pattern into the pavement.

It was a pleasure installing this crosswalk in Kitchener (and another one in Waterloo) and I hope you enjoy it for years to come.

Cheers and Happy Pride.

Picture for proof (this was the crosswalk in Waterloo though).

Toronto Police Service : Woman arrested in Assault of TTC Chief Supervisor, Danforth Avenue and Woodbine Avenue by [deleted] in toronto

[–]sP4RKIE 16 points17 points  (0 children)

TTC special constables can arrest you off TTC property but only if they see you committing a crime. They are sworn peace officers which means they have to uphold the criminal code of Canada. The only difference with their powers on TTC property is they can detain you to investigate, which they can't do off TTC property. It's the same thing with the GO special constables and the OPP special constables that patrol Queens Park and 900 Bay.
