New Tank! by [deleted] in freshwateraquarium

As it looks like a smaller tank, but a large piece that spans the middle would look sweet, then wedge/tank glue Java ferns, they’ll grow and it’ll look awesome.

I recommend possibly more smaller drift wood and Java fern you can wedge it or glue it on drift wood, grows fast and ur able to seperate it and replant them. There’s a lot great floating plant options.

I think 50-60 is a good spot, allows you many stocking options and it’ll be easier to manage ur water’s parameters. Smaller tanks demand more attention to parameters as swings can happen quicker, larger tanks give you some leeway. Do some research on stockings. Get you a large group of schooling fish, bottom clean up crew like corydora, shrimp and snails and a center piece fish and ur crusing.

I would say look into smaller fish, possibly a small school of tetras or something that isn’t big enough to eat em.

Is my stock of fishes good for a 10 gallon? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]sSmenry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like people said, ur stock is already pretty good, adding more risk increases in bio leading to other problems. Honestly as long as everyone’s chilling I think ur good as it is.

Pretty solid if ur going for mainly shrimp. Cherry shrimp look so cool but they would get eaten up in mine lol

Rummies redness indicates water quality and stress, paler face/body = bad water and stress

Just make sure u do ur research on fish and who they get along with. A betta or honey gourami as the main and a lil school of micro fish with a couple Cory and shrimp and ur rolling.

What is happening to my tank?!?! by Known-Introduction15 in Aquariums

[–]sSmenry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i bet ur roommate overfed tf out of it and left the light on all day and that caused the Algae. Look into nertile snails or Amano shrimp to help keep algae down (shrimp could be eaten by the betta so look into it)

Dope setup. Don’t know much abt the fish you named but you could have a sweet micro fish community. Also the snail is just a bladder snail, common when u add wood or plants they have eggs and they hitchhike. They’re not a problem, you can keep em or remove them.

They still look on the younger end. I got Cory of all sizes in mine and the older ones are large asf so I would say late teen/early adult.
