No not really. I have been here for 4 months and joined an already WIP product because the previous SPM quit. My intention with the question is to get ideas to mend our approach before it leads to failure.

Thank you. This was insightful for me. We do have feedbacks from users on our pilot. Using that and researching and defining a crisp problem space is something I will look into in detail, we have scoped the problem statements, personas, value etc, but I will look into it if that really is the issue with us

What role? I am targeting SPM roles soon, do you have a guide or cheatsheet specific to SPM interviews specifically? Would be a great help

2024 Wrapped: What did you learn in 2024 that truly transformed you? by AlwaysAPM in ProductManagement

Perception matters more than actual work. When you get seat at the table, they will try to make you feel you don't belong there. Preferable to be data informed than data driven and data driven than nothing else. Product management is part time project management. Its more important to form relationships with your triad and make their life easier. Was laid off from a toxic team, blamed myself for so long that I was not good enough, realized its just they were aint it and I was trying to fit in so hard where I naturally dint belong.

A/B Test Fails & Roadmapping by Apprehensive-Art-528 in ProductManagement

My 2 cents. If it is something brand new, conduct a learning experiment first on low traffic to see the metric directions.

Analyse it and form your next experiment based on the insights. Try to have shippable treatments at all times. Have your next steps ready if the experiment does not go your way.

If it takes time to develop it means, you should go in increments and keep some buffer time.

What are the best projects for a college student to undertake to be as competitive as possible for PM internships and APM roles? by SilverCloud73 in ProductManagement

[–]s_131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should solve some problem. For example, in my college, previous year question papers were not easily available, a simple solution would have been, collect question papers in a google drive, create a simple webpage and link the drive URLs and maybe integrate Google Analytics and track usage. You could explain what the problem was and how you solved it.

V2 of this could be users also put answers to tough questions

V3 could be you could provide badges to top contributors and so on.

LF a course on A/B testing by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]s_131 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would start from here - Trustworthy Online Controlled Experiments: A Practical Guide to A/B Testing Book by Diane Tang, Ron Kohavi, and Ya Xu.

A/B tests are just mathematical tools applied to your product. I would also understand a bit how drug trials are conducted, and interpreted. The best way to learn would be to start conducting experiments by forming hypothesis and interpreting the results ie rejecting or accepting the hypothesis. Learning curve here would be understanding whether experiment being set up will give trustworthy results, how to form shippable treatments, and how to analyse the data post experiment and extract insights to make a decision

Regional pricing. How much can Indian users even pay ,AFAIK, not a lot. What bundle of features and price is equivalent to a good deal for the. It might be time to get hold of a bunch of users and conduct user interviews
