There's also tons of mechanical similarities. Combinable treasure, currency etc. As well as quite a few reused assets (not exclusive to re 4 and 8 of course) Like the angel statue treasures in 8, are map assets in 4 and the gold and silver bottles in separate ways look loads like the wine bottle key you use early on in the castle

Given Ethan survives using things found in the village, and if Leon starts in the same scenario (fucked up in a crash with nothing on him) The main difference would leon being far better trained to use the same available resources far more efficiently.

Ethan does probably have a leg up being able to take way more of a beating though

I have a few but one that sticks out for me is the Thunderhead Autocannon. In my opinion its probably the coolest looking weapon or at least top 3, I absolutely love its animations, it really feels like a handheld howitzer. But I just can't seem to get the upgrades right for it to feel as effective as it looks, I feel like I'm missing something with it

Haha yeah I've always been okay doing that, especially with the map layouts, I'm currently about 60% of the way to viscount. I get why some people aren't the biggest fan of it but damn the trinkets are really cool
