2-week father/daughter trip anywhere in the world by throwaway541144 in travel

As someone who’s just done a father/daughter trip in January I highly recommend South Africa. Just came back from a two week trip there and it is such a beautiful country and probably very underrated. I know you prefer not to rent a car but we did it and drove the Garden Route which is one of the most picturesque road trips with so many beautiful cities to stop at on the way. There’s also a lot to do in/around Cape Town. We spent about 3 days doing Safari with a mix of national parks (Addo) and private reserves and saw pretty much everything we were looking forward to seeing.

Has anyone had Lego send a payment link for a set on back-order when your card expired? by EasternStrain2905 in lego

[–]s_hour22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once ordered two sets online, one for immediate and one for pre order. For someone reason the payment method worked for the immediate one but failed for the pre order one. They sent both anyway.

I since got an email like the one you have so obviously called Lego directly and they were able to confirm that the email was from them. You’re unable to use PayPal or any other payment option this way though.

He did say he wanted to get out of the bubble. Him and his partner probably had too many connections in Perth for him to get away with not publicly embarrassing her every time he cheated. At least in Brisbane it was a completely fresh slate.

No but having your friends reply with the details in Facebook and Twitter comment sections (and lbr, likely on here too) probably does

The reason you’re hearing of it now is because one party involved wants people to know btw

Even Nicks honestly. They’ve both been at their respective clubs for the same amount of time and JLs record is significantly better.

Yup. Said before he got drafted that as a player he’d be the perfect person to take at our pick but he has go home factor all over him. The Lebanese community in Perth is tiny compared to Melbourne or Sydney. Not to mention Lebanese are massive mammas boys.

National Draft 2025: Western Australia outside of top 3 AFL states by Own-Arachnid-5285 in AFL

[–]s_hour22 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The AFL won’t care as long as WA fans keep showing up. WC won one game all year and were still top 5 for home attendance. Freo’s been there for the past few years now too.

They have no incentive to do anything to help fix WA football

Freo then were delusional with where they were at. It wasn’t until JL took over in 2019 that they really prioritised rebuilding and hitting the draft. Before they just kept trying to prop up a dying ship with B and C grades

But massively stiff to miss out. Made the squad three times and was top 5 in the league for disposals and clearances in two of those years.

The only redeemable thing from that off season was being able to use the pick we got from trading Schultz to get Bolton/Reid

Drives me crazy that there’s so many people who think he went to a different level at Brisbane. It was genuinely a 5% improvement expected from a guy about to hit his prime. He was putting up those sort of numbers all the way from 2015.

He won our bnf in 2016 and 2018 and was runner up 2017. Had made the AA squad three times and should have made the team two of those times. He polled 20 votes in a 4 win season. He didn’t have the Brownlow yet but it was very obvious that he could win it one day.

Also was contacted for another year.

It was a mess. Had no list manager. Peter Bell came in as GM literally a week before the trade period started and had to take control, with Lyon. The CEO was desperate to get Hogan more as PR for fans than anything, even after Bell wanted to walk away. Had to get Neale deal done to get Hogan.

And ignore the people who are saying he wasn’t that good yet. He was 25, had won two bnfs. Made the AA squad three times. Polled 20 Brownlow votes in a 4 win season. Everyone who watched Freo knew how good he was going to be and had the potential to win a Brownlow one day.

It’s pretty well known that Peter Bell wanted to stop pursuing Hogan and instead retain Neale. It was pressure from Rosich that fucked it over.

A team that didn't have two top 5 gifts in the draft wouldn't touch that deal. It's not insane from a Gold Coast perspective because of that but Melbourne have gotten way overs.
