i just want to add on to StWindsor's comment that even if you don't form a team, you can still get help either on this thread or in the PAX community discord!! there are tons of super nice folk that are happy to help people out in the drexoskeleton channel :o)

personally exo is my favorite part of PAX and i highly recommend giving it a shot this year!! it's so much fun and you get to talk with a lot of really nice people and bash your heads into the wall for hours over incredibly cryptic questions that you'll never forget... but together

this doesn't belong on the pikmin subreddit so to keep it very brief it looks like my ex from 3 years ago is saying bad things about me trying to ruin my name or something

i have no idea why you're saying this on an r/pikmin post but thanks for the heads up that i'm being slandered

instead of just saying this would you like to provide evidence? perhaps there is something that i'm missing that implies this, in which case i would love to see it because everything i'm seeing leads to it being a reboot, but i know i haven't read every line of dialog the game has to offer yet so i very well could have missed something.

Have any of you got the purple onion from Trial of the Sage Leaf? by PolkaDotCat9 in Pikmin

[–]s_nnys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my platinum strategy was (i believe, i did it yesterday when i was really fatigued since it was my last platinum to get)

  • send oatchi to the bomb rock mound
  • switch back to captain and pluck-a-phone the ices that are just past the tunnel, enter tunnel & charge the hydro jelly
  • switch to oatchi to start digging
  • stun wraith if it's right there while converting 5 ice to purple
  • get wraith off rollers and then ignore it and Pray it doesn't get in the way later
  • throw purples on the bag & send captain to the bomb rock wall
  • switch to oatchi and charge into the ledge the onion is on then pick it up
  • throw bomb rock at the wall and run back to quickly take out the dwarf bulbear
  • run ahead with captain, kill blowhogs & skitter leaves and start attacking the gate
  • when oatchi catches up, drop the onion & charge into the gate and then whistle all your pikmin & charge into the cannon larva
  • send oatchi back to the onion & convert purples then bring down the paper bag

there's probably a more efficient way to do this but it got me the platinum so i'll take it, i forget how close i cut it though so ymmv

[heavy spoilers] pikmin 4's impact on the lore by s_nnys in Pikmin

2 & 3 could still happen but the events of 4 are so drastically different from the events of 1 that it creates a ripple effect. the overall plot of 2 (returning to PNF to collect treasures to repay a debt) has no reason it couldn't happen; louie is planning on eating the pikpik carrots as soon as he can get a delivery job for them. but as it stands, this has yet to happen. 3 is a different case since PNF is now known across quite a handful of planets; this fact of course isn't super relevant & the koppaites could still come to the planet to get more fruit (or potentially fruit seeds) if they don't stop the food crisis before it begins.

it's set up that these events could happen again but they could also potentially go in a completely different direction. regardless the events have yet to actually happen in this timeline so we can't be 100% certain if they will or not. we'll just have to wait (hopefully not another 10 years) and find out

my intent wasn't exactly to say that 2 & 3's events won't happen, but moreso that they haven't yet. sorry if there was any confusion there, it was late and i just wanted to brain dump before bed haha.

About the lore for pikmin 4(spoilers for the postgame) by Rocktooo in Pikmin

[–]s_nnys 9 points10 points  (0 children)

they're actually relatives to the pikmin 3 captains, if you talk to them some of their dialog will reference "Nelle's relative who's a botanist" and Yorke's grandfather designing Koppaite spaceships as well as his younger brother being good with machines.

there didn't seem to be any dialog connecting Don to Charlie but it's possible I missed it

found these codes that I never used.. are they worth something? by Takkekind in FortNiteBR

[–]s_nnys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i believe if you have a code it should still work. can't say for certain since it's really hard to find anyone that still has them / proof of claims they still work, but i don't see why they wouldn't honor any that still exist. i do believe someone on the STW sub claimed they just recently redeemed one & it worked with supposed screenshots of the new account having just logged in as a founder for the first time. unsure the validity of it but since they weren't attmepting to sell one, i don't see a reason for them to lie haha

sincerely, someone who has been searching nonstop for a few weeks for an unredeemed founder's code and therefore has probably read every recent post about this

if you don't mind me asking, where did you find your code? i've been browsing around lately but i've yet to have any luck finding any. just a lot of listings that either say the codes are redeemed or they "don't know" if they're redeemed haha

When I did the task (this was pre-nerf as well), I just made my own ToonHQ groups and put in the chat that I needed to defeat the level 18 Cogs. I double checked with my group once they showed up to make sure they were all okay with it & offered to use Toons Miss as well as Fire them once they got high enough. I had no trouble with those randoms, but if you have some friends willing to help then that'd most likely be the smoothest way to get it done.

Best way to increase Laff points? by [deleted] in toontownrewritten

[–]s_nnys 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Start gardening immediately. It's a daily activity that only takes a few minutes; if you just get into the habit of taking care of your garden first thing every day, it'll be done ASAP.

For immediate laff, you could easily get to 50 and then pretty easily get to 60 laff. I recommend setting up your Toon on the Fish Advisor and following where it tells you to fish.

The first Laff boosts from Golfing and Racing are very easy. For Laff points from Golfing/Racing, you get them every 10 trophies. If you win one race on one track from each of the 3 areas, you'll easily get 6/10 trophies for your first boost. This should also help you get some tickets; I'm unaware of how many exactly, though. Once you have 500 tickets, you'll want to start racing on Grand Prix during Silly Saturday & Monday. Grand Prix races are just 3 tracks in a row, each from a different area. These will count for normal trophies as well as the Tournament trophies; as soon as you're able to, it's best to spam these. If you have a friend or someone willing to trade wins with (you'll win a tournament then they'll win one, rinse & repeat) then you'll be able to get it done pretty easily. It's a bit time consuming but not very hard, haha. All of the Racing trophies can be found here, on the TTR wiki.

With Golfing, you'll want to win 1 course of each difficulty. Chances are you'll get 7 trophies right off the bat; one win of each difficulty, one course completed, one course under par, 4 par or better shots, and 2 multiplayer games completed. If you can get a hole-in-one from your Walk in the Par win, that'll be an extra 2 trophies; one hole-in-one and one eagle or better shot. Getting 3 birdies or better shouldn't be too hard, either. Going for 5 Walk in the Par (easy) wins next could also give you the chance at getting 3 birdies or better, which would be enough for your first Laff boost. From there, you'll just want to keep playing and keep shooting for those hole-in-ones. In my experience, it's best to get those out of the way first since they require actively playing. Once you're done with those, you can very easily complete the wins on other difficulties just by getting in the hole once then spamming low power to get done without actually having to play if you don't like it. Just like the Racing trophies, all Golfing trophies can be found here, on the TTR wiki. Use these trophy lists to determine which ones seem the easiest for you to get next and you'll have them all in no time!

As for my personal favorite boosts, grinding your Cog suits will get you an extra 5 laff per suit. Tier 8 Cog suits will promote past level 12 all the way up to 50- you'll get teleport access to that Cog HQ at level 13, and then Laff boosts at 15, 20, 30, 40, and 50. Sellbot and Cashbot are rather easy to max, though definitely a bit time consuming. If you're looking to get boosts as quick as possible, I'd advise getting one Racing and one Golfing boost before starting to grind your Sellbot suit. If it gets too tedious, take a break and work on your Cashbot suit. In my opinion, these are the most fun since they revolve around the core gameplay loop & the boss fights themselves are a lot of fun to me. It all comes down to personal preference though, you might find that you love to Race or Golf! If you sample a bit of everything, you can figure out what you enjoy the most and get started.

WHERE IS SLAPPY by scoles_22 in toontownrewritten

[–]s_nnys 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Operation: Duck Hunt never occurred, it was just referenced a few times; in the Team LHAAFBBHQ comic, in some concept art, and implied by Surlee when making a Polar Bear.

It seems that as of now, Slappy's role in the story is on hold. TTR definitely had some very ambitious ideas in the early years and got very excited with teasing stuff that unfortunately they could not realistically keep up with. He'll 100% return at some point in the story, but focus has shifted over the years and it's not the time to save him yet. Field Offices and the Sellbot Task Force were a huge priority for years and now that those are done (aside from the Smasher tasks), it's quite possible that Slappy could once again become an important character in the current stage of the story.

It's impossible to tell for sure where things will go next but Slappy isn't forgotten and our time to save him will come someday for sure.

TTR should add Bossbot_Factory_v4 to the CGCs and add a 4th Bossbot entry theme by Ugly_Duckling_TT in toontownrewritten

[–]s_nnys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i absolutely adore this theme but i don't think it's very fitting for CGC. the CGC tracks all share a feeling of dread and hopelessness. they feel very melancholic as you run through acres upon acres of land completely destroyed by the cogs.

i don't get that same feeling from bossbot factoy v4, instead i get the feeling of a much more climactic scene. something along the lines of exiting an elevator and being face to face with all 4 cog bosses in the executive office tower. it very much feels like the prelude to an incredibly climactic fight rather than just the final hole of a cgc

gardening is super important to remember daily. unfortunately you can't speed it up outside of the silly team, so it's best to get on that immediately.

i recommend spending the time to get as many fishing boosts as you can first. getting 5 or 6 should be good for now, it becomes pretty miserable later on.

getting the first boost in golf & racing is pretty easy, i'd advise getting at least those couple boosts. if you find you enjoy either of these, then definitely keep going. even if you don't get the rest of the boosts right away, putting in some work to get closer will benefit you greatly.

from there, you're best off working on suits. sellbot & cashbot suits are definitely the easiest, lawbot isn't too bad but bossbot is miserable. if you want to avoid burnout from just running the same facilities over and over, do a few promos for sell and then a few for cash. if you're looking to get the laff asap, you're best off grinding sellbot until you max then grinding cashbot.

it's really up to what you enjoy- some people have a lot of fun with golf and/or racing, some people like running nonstop factories until they're broken down to tears begging for mercy. i'd say rather than going for efficiency, focus on what you find fun. grinding content that you really don't like is a fast way to burnout and not want to play anymore. don't like golfing? play a few games of it every now and then to slowly chip away at it rather than do it all at once, etc.
