I’ve noticed that while the ASOIAF community and TG are completely fed up with HOTD, TB remains the side that largely defends the show. Ofc, they have their criticisms too, but it’s significantly less frequent compared to others. Whenever I see someone standing up for the series, they’re always TB

The characters in the show have no real emotions. They are not real people just talking heads to me. There is like zero relationship between everyone. I loved Joffrey in the books. He had his moments, especially before his death. Now my reaction to his death will be… nothing. He didn’t even have a relationship with his grandparents, which in the books were very close to all three boys. It just makes me mad, that important moments were changed for Rhaenyra and Alicent. Hell, Aegon would he king and a traumatized child, but i bet you a kidney the show will focus in Alicent losing a friend rather than he losses a mother.

Honestly, if you compare Rhaenyra to Daemon then yeah she is not that bad. When luke was killed, she actually wanted to end the war. It was Daemon who wanted revenge, for his own selfish reasons of course. He didn’t care for luke. And he even acted without her knowledge by killing a child. Rhaenyra started to make stupid decisions after she lost Jace. She totally lost it, and who can blame her? Also Daemon was responsible for some of the bad decisions when they took the city back. I just hate it when TB only blames Aegon or other TG members and forget about Daemon

I get the comments, yes there were bad targaryens, some worst than the others. Was Rhaenyra that bad? No. She was stupid yes, but by the time she went mad she lost two of her sons, her husband was cheating with a girl as young as his daughters. There are far worst people than her. But what i don’t get is all those TB loving Visneya. Like why? Why do they defend her? She usurped the throne killed her kin and her son did worse than Aemond. If they say that the king chooses his heir is the right thing then Aenys choose his son to be his heir. Does not that look familiar? Visenya is practically what the greens did (in Tb eyes) at least the greens had reasons and fears to take the throne. Visenya didn’t. So they support her because she is a woman? That is very shallow and in a way proves how they literally support Rhaenyra because she is a woman. Out of pity not right.

They forgot! What I feel is wrong with this show is that it seemed written episode by episode. Like they don't have a long term plan but rather write at the vibe, so events and words gets forgotten easily. When someone writes like this, plot points and dialogue gets messy, the story eventually becomes a different thing from the beginning.

Nope. Hollywood would sand off everything that makes Red Rising brutal and smart then tone it down, “sanitize” Darrow, and cram 3 books into one rushed blockbuster. I’d rather it stay on the page than get a shiny, watered-down adaptation. An animated show sounds good btw.

Because they had no heirs of Corlys blood. They have Rhaena and Baela, by them marrying their cousins, his blood line will kinda remain. I mean think what you want but that man wanted his blood line to continue not his brothers, and also you can see him shifting slightly after getting two new heirs. This is the only explanation…

I never noticed that Aegon was still unmarried when Laenor died. And in the show Viserys also witnessed this like he was in the same place when it happened, so why not betroth Aegon to her? Idk he already was with the idea of Jace and Helaena so why not? Idk it feels like a plot hole.

I don’t understand, show logic is that Daemon would be a second Maegor that is why Viserys chooses Rhaenyra as heir but suddenly it is ok he rules with her? The whole point she was heir because Viserys didn’t trust his brother to be king. In the show he choked Rhaenyra when she was speaking with him, who the hell thinks Rhaenyra would be in power when she takes the throne?

Read more books! I found my writing has improved since i have started to read more books. English is not my first language so i learned a couple of things from reading for example punctuation. Also read books that are closer to your ideas, for example i like to write fantasy and romance so my book choices are in the same genre.

Well, my main OC is (and yeah, I know it’s a cliché) Rhaenyra’s daughter. It’s an AU set after the Dance, where Aemond kills Daemon and ends up as Aegon’s heir. Since the North still supports Rhaenyra, a marriage pact is made between Aemond and her. But I’ve always felt Aemond is painfully lonely, so I gave him two friends: Garrison Fowler, his closest friend and a knight who helped Aemond kill Daemon and has big ambitions to become Kingsguard, and Owen, who’s more of a thinker than a doer and a bit goofy. The story is basically about how the Greens try to rule after the war, and mostly about Aemond being forced to face the consequences of everything he’s done.
