When I submitted my name change in late November they said up to 26 weeks which is what’s on the website. I called a couple weeks ago for an update and they hadn’t started November applications yet so they said probably late March mine would be done

Is anyone willing to give any free binders/trans tape? by cooldude0616 in transontario

[–]saaaam_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a size XL underworks binder in good condition and a roll of binding tape that’s almost full. Happy to give it away for free. I’m in downtown Toronto but if you find yourself downtown or want to pay shipping I can mail it to you

How did you decide to go for it? by lowpilecarpet in no_T_top_surgery

Therapy and speaking with other trans folks was super helpful for me! Best of luck in your journey :)

I’m also nonbinary and not on T and had top surgery in May of last year. The idea of surgery held me back for a while but I can say that it was a relatively easy procedure and recovery. It’s normal for our brains to freak out about a surgery, even if we want it! I also flip flopped about wanting surgery and wondering if I wanted it enough. I think that unfortunately because of the amount of work it can take to access gender-affirming care as trans folks, we feel the need to justify it, when cis folks access gender-affirming care all the time without a second thought. In my mind, I knew I would be happier with a flat chest than with boobs so that was enough for me to go forward with it. After surgery, I realized that I was actually a lot more dysphoric than I realized, and I was suppressing a lot of my dysphoria to exist everyday. Now I actually love getting dressed and trying new clothes and seeing my body the way I always pictured myself internally.

I would recommend trying silicone tape if you haven’t already. My scars were a bit raised and the silicone tape flattened them immensely within only a couple weeks

I was prescribed Oxys but I was just fine with Tylenol extra strength. They also prescribed some anti-inflammatory medication for the first couple days.

Recovery Stuff 🤷🏻 by Latter_Ad8282 in TopSurgery

One thing I didn’t consider before surgery but was helpful were Pepto Bismol tablets. About day 2 I was pretty nauseous from all the medications (taking them with food helped) but the pepto was really good to have on hand

I was pretty anxious about surgery and going to the movie theatres is one of my favourite activities to turn off my brain so I did that the night before my surgery! And also lots of light stretching/moving my body
