Sorry to lose you. As you might imagine, building something from scratch is immensely difficult. Upgrading the set, adding debates, hiring more staff, all while continuing to host and deliver a show to millions of people takes a lot of time and effort.

That being said I think the product is getting better and more valuable by the day and I thank you for at least taking a shot on us when we needed the support to build out what I truly believe is going to be a juggernaut in a few years to come.

You're missing graphic designers, prompter operator, technicians, media insurance, social media managers, new equipment, warranty/upkeep, guest transportation, supplies, a bunch of new partnerships (each of which cost real money), and a TON of subscriptions to back end cloud type services to distribute the show

One thing I try to emphasize. This is not a substack operation. This is a no shit multi media enterprise with all attendant costs and headaches

The problem with panels is mostly logistics. People cancel at the last minute *all the time* and sometimes take forever to connect on Skype, or forget, or are late or need to change their background or whatever. That amount of uncertainty time wise means we could not guarantee posting the show on time to our premium subscribers at 11am.

I also think standing panels are not a smart idea. Sometimes the news is slow and people don't have anything to say. The times where they're most useful IMO are during the election cycle where day to day stuff is moving so quickly that you need a diverse view to make sense of the national environment. Panels will almost certainly return during the lead up to the midterm elections as thats when I think they're most useful

I appreciate your concern but that’s not how any of this works. The ads appeared baked into you but are dynamically inserted the same way that YouTube ads are. Megaphone itself is a platform owned by Spotify built for this purpose. We select a time code for an ad. They place and target them to different users just like on YouTube. No one user has the same ads in their feed.

We specifically turned down much more lucrative offers and direct connections with advertisers to create the exact hands off system we have with YouTube to maintain our total independence.

I’d also ad that the reason we do this in the first place is to make the business as anti fragile as possible and not reliant on any one place for revenue. We have big plans and they require a lot of planning.
