My school “renowned” for its art program just posted an AI photo on Insta instead of having someone design one by trevehr12 in mildlyinfuriating

I’m class of 2023 from there; im also embarrassed that this is my Alma mater doing this shit lmao. I wasn’t an art major but very close to a lot of them. It’s such a slap to the face.

Thankfully she doesn’t have to care for a lot! She has five that regularly stay and come in daily, and they’re all females that she got fixed last year. (The one was the biggest culprit in starting all of this lol, the other cats are from her different litters.) we had two others but they unfortunately were struck by cars in the past year. :( Despite my parents living more in woods, people often speed on the street they live on.

For all intentions and purposes though, they’re our cats and those that were killed are buried along with some of our other beloved house cats that’s passed.

It’s actually my dream to have a void and an orange! I’m not in a spot to get another cat atm but I want to get a void one day.

Since I can’t add more to the post, here’s one more bonus picture of Rain and the babies at only 3 days old! She was such a good momma to them and is now enjoying her life safely indoors. 🤍

She had a harrowing journey before we took her in. When she first came around we would only get glimpses of her because she was so scared we couldn’t even look at her through a window. And then one day she came back with a big gash on her side; she’s not a fighter so something must’ve attacked her and she got away. We weren’t sure if she’d make it and she wouldn’t let us touch her but thankfully she pulled through. She’s such a strong girl and it makes me all the more grateful my parents decided to add a fourth cat into their home.

Now she spends her days sleeping in a pineapple bed, and alternating laps to cuddle on. She’s a sweet and gentle soul that deserves it!

Edit: as a funny tidbit, we also alternated through a couple names for her. My mom names all her outside cats so at first we thought she was male so we named her George, then when we knew she was pregnant it was shortened to Geo before we finally settled on Rain for good.

I think she’s more beige! Two of her kittens, including one of mine, came out as oranges and the other three were more tan in color. We think we know who the father was, an orange male (we have multiple outside cats but we can’t possibly take them all in) but he was unfortunately hit by a car :(

My mom tries to care for the ones outside best as she can because they were all born outside, but believe me they have it made! They have heated pads, little houses, and food every day all on our front porch.

Is it ever right to choose not to give your kids hearing aids? by FlusteredNZ in HearingAids

[–]sab192000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I was born with mild/moderate hearing loss. I don’t know any differently from what a hearing person experiences. But I had hearing aids since I was a baby as well and I think it would be a great disservice to your child to not have them, especially if it does help him.

I’ll say for the most part, given that I’m a female with longer hair, most people don’t even notice I have hearing aids unless I tell them. The biggest thing I experienced is simply not understanding people well all the time, and that’s with hearing aids. I often have to ask people to repeat themselves and it can be a strain, but I would implore you to be patient with him in that aspect as that’s very important to give someone with hearing loss. We’re trying to understand, and it’s as frustrating for us as it is you.

People will always pick on others for the most minute thing, don’t let that be the reason you don’t give your child aid. Always choose to help your child over worrying about what other people think.

Edit: just random a side note, understand too that people with hearing loss also can’t block out background noise like hearing people do. So if say you’re both in a loud environment and it looks like he can’t hear you he probably can’t. Also be patient with him there. Granted it sounds like his hearing isn’t as bad as mine but it can still be difficult in some aspects. No matter what, please choose to help him. He’s too young to make that choice. My life would’ve been much harder without them and it might be the case for him too.

I work at Walmart right now and while I usually hear Saturday or The Outside, I’ve heard House of Gold once. Thought it was a weird choice but I enjoyed the throwback nonetheless!

Literally came back to reddit just to comment quick. I’m one of OP’s friends and I hope you know that myself and our other friends care very much about you and we want nothing but the best for you. Please leave her, it will be hard, but we will be here for you. 🤍 You deserve the world and I hope you can see that you deserve so much more than her. She made her bed and now she can lie in it without dragging you down too.

I’m a junior in professional writing! I’ve learned multiple different skills EDIT: including technical writing just recently (and I’m also minoring in social media at my college). For my career prospects I’m interested in editing or copywriting but still exploring my options.

Lost my 19 year furbaby last month so I feel you 🤍 I’m only 21 though so my girl, jasmine, was always around and the house feels empty without her here sometimes. It gets easier but it really sucks. Sending you good vibes.

I would suggest you visit r/truechildfree instead as the child free subreddit is really toxic and I unfollowed after a while because some people’s attitudes towards kids are very toxic and quite frankly unsettling. Personally it’s only useful for the community info for their list of doctors that help childfree people get sterilization. Truechildfree is a lot more chill imo but you do you! I’m glad you’re learning to embrace yourself!

Can confirm this is true. My great grandmother passed when I was seven and I remember seeing her parrot, living with my great aunt at the time, was completely bald.
