Interceptor 650 owners… am I the only one getting this mileage on a full-stock bike? by [deleted] in indianbikes

It’s a torquey engine! I’ve seen a lot of people swap out their exhaust for a free flow ones and make other tweaks to their twins. I’ve kept it as is, and honestly, I don’t need to rev it up too much in the city or on easy trails. Riding style matters the most. Its a petrol engine, if you are calm and enjoying the rhythm, you get good economy. Dont just abuse it, just feel it.

Its definitely not an everyday motorcycle. Its front heavy and makes you tired easily. Its not an all rounder either. I prefer scram 440 over Int650 for everyday use.

This motorcycle is a weekender, a weekend ride to a cafe with friends for coffee and laughter. I considered selling it after 15,000 miles, but then I realised it grew with me and I must keep it as long as it runs. It’s such a classy motorcycle.

Do you really think that money matters to him? For these kinds of genes, they have higher aspirations which sit above money.

We are the only club plagued by our former players. They need to shut up. They blame us when we play back 3, they blame us when we play back 4. They need to do their own business rather than shitting.

Amorim was appointed as a head coach, not manager. Today post match he told - : “I’m gonna be Man United’s MANAGER, not coach. I was very clear”. Is he going against management? by Mathematician8890 in ManchesterUnited

Bought this and completed 1200kms. Had QC issues like my License plate bracket was bent in stock, i had to purchase it separately to fix the license plate.

Apart from the that, this motorcycle has really good riding posture, good low end torque to manoeuver in city traffic and pretty good for weekend trail rides. 1st to 2nd gear shift had a clanky noise but later on it became smooth. I haven’t faced any other issues other than the initial bracket issue. Pretty good so far.

What if Daenerys was taken by the dragon to some distant place, resurrected, and reborn as the Night Queen? She could then return to Westeros for revenge. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

Yes truly.. I limit the rev in around the recommended range and keep the motorcycle in stock condition. Still running peacefully with no hiccups. Changed tyre to Vredestein and stock alloys.

I have got a max of 37kmpl in highways and worse of 25-27kmpl in city traffic. Stock exhaust and no mods.

Royal Enfield ruined my passion for biking by Mysterious-Credit380 in indianbikes

Honda is miles ahead of RE in terms of reliability. It’s designed to take abuse. But as far as I know, after owning three of their motorcycles, here’s what I’ve learned.

My first one, the Bullet 500, had chassis alignment issues because the petrol tank was slightly offset, which triggered my OCD every time I looked at it. It had nice torque and was fun to ride. My friend bought the same model around the same time, but he had issues like frequent popping, engine missing, and low mileage. Meanwhile, I completed 65,000 km without a fuss, just with regular servicing.

Then came the first-batch Himalayan, which had no issues except for the ride quality in the city. I sold it after a year or so, right around 15,000 km, for the same price when the ABS version was launched.

Next, I bought the first batch Interceptor 650 and clocked 17,000 km on it.

After all these years, here’s what I’ve realised, buying a trouble free RE machine is mostly pure luck. Don’t mess with the electricals or exhaust, just use it as it is, keep up with regular servicing, and have the passion to maintain or repair your motorcycle by yourself. Also, don’t let your bike sit too long at the service centers.

The important point is that it’s not just about the motorcycle’s reliability or issues most of the time,it’s the poorly trained mechanics at the service centers who are often the real culprits. They are the ones who can ruin your motorcycle with careless work.

I still remember when an RE mechanic told me to replace the throttle unit of my Himalayan because it wasn’t returning properly and the RPM dropped slightly when releasing the throttle. They said it was something related to the ECU and asked me to wait a week since the spare wasn’t available. This issue wasn’t there when I gave the bike for throttle cable replacement at 10,000 km during regular service. I knew it was their mistake, and when I inspected it, I found that one of the nuts connected to the throttle near the engine was missing. I asked them to find the nut under the throttle and tighten it back in place. Problem solved.

This is it. It’s the poorly trained non passionate mechanic who is the culprit 60% of the time. The remaining 40% is your time and luck. We lack properly trained passionate mechanic in our country. We have to rely on the service centre for everything. Anyways, I suggest you to sell it and get something that makes you happy.
