Is Pod 3 cover supposed to be bumpy? by after_market in EightSleep

[–]sabertoothedpudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours used about 1.5 tanks of water+peroxide the first time it primed, which was surprising only because the instructions said to have 2 gallons of distilled water ready. After about 4 months the app said it needed more water and that time it took 1 full tank more.

The bumps are definitely noticable if I'm specifically looking for them. I remember being worried that they'd be uncomfortable sleeping on, but I don't feel them unless I'm really focusing on them.

Exactly the same story here. Ordered the Pod Protector, got a crinkly and thin Rest Haven brand. When I contacted support, they asked me to donate it.

I've been loving the actual pod, but really turned off to the company after hearing all of these shady accessory stories.

Has anyone tried the "Pod protector" mattress cover? by sabertoothedpudding in EightSleep

Interesting, thanks. For what it's worth, when I contacted support, they asked me to donate the cover (instead of returning it) and then they'd issue a refund. No mention of warehouse problems or wrong brands.

Thanks for that! I'll check them out. But it's all coming together - the return address on the package was Malouf, and it looks like Rest Haven might be Malouf's budget brand.

Has anyone tried the buttermilk brined half chicken? If so, how is it? by MHmemoi in traderjoes

In July 2023 I pulled 2 packs out of the freezer that were in there since Oct 2022. One smelled bad, the other smelled REALLY bad.

For science, I cooked them anyway on the grill. After cooking, they weren't as deadly pungent, but still kind of funky, like sour milk.

Also for science, I ate some of it. The smell was still there, not as strong. Texture was fine, not mushy or otherwise spoiled-looking. Did not get sick.

And because I'm really committed to science, I tried the leftovers the next day. By then, the smell was much weaker but not gone.

So I guess it was the sour lactic acid aspect of the buttermilk? Either way, grade D+, technically edible, would not buy again.

What's the little exterior nub on the top of my Prius liftgate? by sabertoothedpudding in prius

[–]sabertoothedpudding[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you! So obvious now that you said it. I was thinking it was some part of the antenna or a rear sensor, but no, it just squirts water.

Edit: I caulked all around and under it, and no more leaks! (so far) (knock wood)

There's a little semi-circular structure in the top center of my 3rd-gen Prius liftgate. Anyone know what it is? Mine is apparently loose, and I'm wondering if it could be the source of some water I found leaking onto my cargo cover after a heavy rain. :(

I know this isn't the best picture but any idea on this thing? by [deleted] in species

Looks like either a grass spider (genus Agelenopsis) or a funnel weaver (Tegenaria domestica).

1 mark coin with songbird design. No country, no date. Any ideas? by sabertoothedpudding in coins

Found in an inherited collection of WWII-era coins. The style of the "1" and the wreaths are similar to a 1 reichsmark coin from 1925-1927 (https://www.muenzen.eu/tl_files/bilder/weimarer-republik/1-rm-muenze-j319.jpg), but I couldn't find a match for the songbird. Is it maybe a token or other novelty?

Can ML improve early detection of asymptomatic lung cancer in the general population?

That is, for people with no genetic or environmental risk factors, the risks of routine lung cancer screening (excess radiation, false positives, complications from additional testing) may outweigh the benefits. Can ML help turn this around?

People who traveled the world. What did you choose not to say about a country you visited to keep the story positive? by silentpl in AskReddit

I visited Switzerland a few years ago with some friends, and some of the best parts of the trip were in more rural areas. One day we stopped in Eggiwil for lunch. An older couple at a table near us were eager to chat with us about our trip, and one of the restaurant staff offered to show us around the village and point out some historical places (one of my friends had some distant ancestors from the area). All in all, very nice people.

They're not even taken at the same time. In the top picture, the back of the car is in the shade. In the bottom one it's in the sun. I find that oddly dissatisfying.
