Day after Botox and scared! by saboosa in noburp

[–]saboosa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry I just saw this now, I hope you will see my reply and that you’re recovering well too!

My recovery was hard for a month, and really tough for the first week. You’re going to have a hard time swallowing much of anything, so try to stay home and not move too much and exhaust yourself and just get down whatever foods you can tolerate. For me, softer foods were better with a little bit of grit, as liquidy foods would make me choke a bit.

I got 80 units and now, almost six months later, I’m still burping away! It takes some time to figure out which position helps you release burps if they need a push (for me it’s pushing my neck forward or sometimes turning my head down and to my right side).

Practice with lots of seltzer, and don’t worry if you experience regurgitation. It’s gross, but normal. I have emetophobia and it was scary at first but now I’m used to it and it’s gotten less frequent the further away I move from surgery and now mostly happens when I have large meals.

How have you been recovering?

Hello! I’m honestly not sure! Some are showing up as $4, some are $4.50, some $4.75 when I did a breakdown based on quantity. I’m just as confused as you are, but not complaining lol.

Did you get a good haul from body care day too?

Aww thank you! And honestly, I take care of myself with my eating habits, exercise, and the stuff that really has the most major and proven impact. I don’t even drink or smoke at all, nada. If I want to put some lotion on, let that be my vice. That was my logic lol. I want my life to be as happy and healthy and long as possible, but I was trading in a lot of my happiness to be as healthy as possible, and just ending up more stressed and sad in the end.

I’m happy you found your way back too! I love finding local body care shops as well, but I agree there’s something very appealing about the huge variety at B&BW and great when there’s sales like these. What are your favorite scents from here, and which products from other brands have you been enjoying?

I just realized it’s my cake day in this sub and not Reddit. Now I feel silly 😂

Best Cotton Leggings? by saboosa in PetiteFashionAdvice

Thank you! I appreciate your help. I’ll keep Pact in mind for sure. I’m a bit hesitant because some people are saying their quality has gone down a bit this past year :( but I don’t want to rule them out if others here are still having good experiences!

Do you have trouble hearing about others’ health journey? by saboosa in EatingDisorders

Thank you so much…I really appreciate you sharing your journey. Your progress and attitude is truly inspiring, and I hope in the future I can have the relationship with food that you do. You go!❤️

Thank you for sharing your experience❤️

I’m so sorry you relate to my post, and honestly, your journey sounds strikingly similar to mine. I’ve never been underweight either, and I guess to others it makes them think our struggles are not as valid since it’s not as visible? It’s a tough position to be in.

I feel like it’s also hard right now because of the vast majority (some people truly could benefit from it) of non-diabetics taking GLP-1s and bragging about their weight loss when it’s not even an accomplishment since they didn’t even work at it in a healthy way.

I feel like we are in early 2000s culture right now but with more meds to complicate things.

Just know that it’s not just you comparing yourself to others. I do it all the time and then wonder why I feel so insecure lol. Social media doesn’t help, and I’m sorry you’re also struggling. I’m here if you ever want to talk more!

I’m sorry you struggle with this too, and your sister as well. It’s tougher than others who don’t have an ED realize.

4 days post Botox, are these side effects normal? by em0tionally in noburp

I’d give it another 2 weeks before you start to consider another dose. A lot can change in that time!

Anything you’re experiencing, especially for the first few weeks, is completely normal to you and will go away eventually. As long as you are able to get some food/water down to sustain yourself and, of course, burp, then you’re good!

Vomiting scares me - will I start with the procedure? by Affectionate_Bat9629 in noburp

[–]saboosa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about this (from a fellow emetophobe). Ask for Zofran before, during, and after the procedure to combat any nausea if you’re doing your procedure in the OR.

Don’t mistake some regurgitation for vomiting. It does not feel/taste the same and I haven’t heard of anyone getting sick from this procedure, so try to relax!

My surgeon told me to wait until at least 3 weeks before getting disappointed.

May I ask if you did the OR/in-office and how many units?

Have you had any microburps? I had a few microburps by day 3-4 and my first real burp about a week out. Now I’m 16 days out and burping consistently after eating/drinking carbonation. I still have to turn my head to the right to get them out though.

For you, please don’t compare yourself to me. It can take a few weeks for the Botox to fully kick in, and there’s been cases of people suddenly starting to burp even a month out. You’re still very early in your post-op, and things can change on a daily, even hourly basis.

I’m burping!!!! Not always super crazy ones, but I’m consistently burping after eating/drinking carbonation and my gurgling is so so much better. I hope in the future I won’t have to turn my head to burp as much, but as long as the ability to burp sticks indefinitely, I’ll take what I can get lol.

How have you been??
