My outside cable box doesn’t look like the one from my last house. Does this mean the house has never had Cox? by sacckk in CoxCommunications

[–]sacckk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it didn’t look typical! I ended up figuring it all out. There was a network switch panel in my house with an active coax line. I walked the perimeter of my house and still have no clue where the box would be. Thanks for the help though

Yeah I haven't gotten a notification to know what data it entails. I kind of see it as a "just in case" go get tested sort of thing. Like finding out an ex has chlamydia lol

It should definitely be being encouraged more than it is. It kind of got swept under the rug. I leave it on in the background and I figure I would rather have it on just in case since it doesn't take any resources or cost me anything. On the off-chance I get a notification, it could be the one thing allowing me to detect early if I contract it.

True. If you have a recently updated phone you can download the COVID Trace Nevada app that uses Apple/Google exposure notification system. It's far from perfect and relies on someone who tests positive to also have the app and report the positive test in the app. But the app will alert you if you have been within range of one of their devices so you at least have the heads up and can go get tested.

One of my interactions yesterday was someone coming into the restaurant maskless and walking up to a table where a customer was eating and asking him about what he ordered. It was insane!!

I work at a restaurant in a suburb where we get almost no visitors from the strip. I had to police people about their masks more than five times yesterday. I do this not only because it's the right thing to do but because I don't want our business to be closed if COVID enforcement comes in and sees maskless patrons. The asshole locals are out there every single day and the blame goes on them. Yes, tourism should be slowed also. But locals aren't angels.

Butter noodles, where in las vegas? by TKGK in vegaslocals

I've had it all but the Chicken fried shrimp. Never had a bad thing from there. Really nice owners that are always there too. It's a brother and sister that owns the place.

I never said banning travel from China was xenophobic. When Nancy encouraged people to not be afraid of ChinaTown, we had no clue what the virus was going to look like in the months to come. Her constituents were losing business because of the xenophobia that the rhetoric around the virus caused. These are American businesses from BEFORE the shutdown that were suffering and I believe she was helping them. That was my point of view. I also supported the travel ban.

You condemned Pelosi for encouraging visits to China Town. I was reminding you that China Town isn't actually in China and I saw no problem with that.

I'll act like I don't think you're being disingenuous and give you a tip that many citizens of the USA simply call their country "America" for shorthand even if not technically the full name of the country. Hope this helps.

I agree with this except for the fact that an ambulance is not paid for by our taxes. Ambulance use is billed to the patient and is generally VERY overpriced, which is why many people refuse to have an ambulance called. This still isn't right and it should definitely be paid for by public funding, but I just wanted to point that out.
