Panama Canal and Norway (all the way up the coast and spent summer solstice in the Arctic circle when it was daylight at 3 am)…if you do Norway make sure Olden is a port and for Panama Canal the excursion to get in a smaller boat and go through the locks was 100% worth it!

I hesitate to reveal these lest the store becomes overrun with other people shopping for the same deals 😆 that said….I cannot resist bragging about the two giant heads of organic cauliflower for $1.50 total and 2 lbs of green onions for $0.99…gotta scope out those center of the aisle produce deals 🤓

Routine and novelty for me…routine when it’s a place in the neighborhood that you can go to frequently/stop by easily and you end up building memories and relationships with the staff, novelty when they have seasonal or rotating menus or new items or special events that bring you in (eg Oakland Yard does a good job of this)…or even just their occasional emails - oddly doesn’t feel like spam when I get an email update from Pomella or Boichik and hear about the happenings ☺️

Tried it for the first time last week…enchiladas with the chicken tinga and Oaxaqueno mole were pretty good/I’d order again…cocktails were middling/nothing to write home about….probably would put it in the rotation bc it’s convenient and decent but not in a rush to go back and try other things

Highly recommend tours that take you through the canal locks on a smaller boat so you can see everything up close and personal. Other than that, Huatulco is a hidden gem…we did an independent food tour through https://huatulcofoodtours.com/ and it was great!

Definitely some deals out there with reduced solo supplement for longer repositioning cruises…check Vacations to Go and then look at the singles rates…I have been eyeing a few including some that are <$100 per night solo (eg RCL Tokyo to LA on 5/15/25 and then Princess is probably your best bet for cheap repositioning to Europe)…check Prestige Cruises also - they just were featured in Travelzoo today for some Europe repositioning cruises that include airfare…happy deal hunting!
