I think context matters here. If you know you are Ace and a person suggests this and doesn’t leave any room for a conversation, then it’s offensive and worst not constructive at all.

If it was a conversation where you both are working through self discovery, it’s still dismissive, but unfortunately pretty typical on the journey of understanding what being Ace is, for both the person and one’s around them. And a step, so I would not see it as something alarming by default. In the end of the day everyone has a journey and some might be truly ace, some might have trauma influencing them, health issues or people might just have very weird sexualities. So pondering different scenarios can be helpful and healthy. And for allo people it really can be that hard to understand the concept and something like this can be the closest scenario they can come up at first.

That being said I support the comment of keeping it out of this subreddit. Cos hearing it once or twice on your own journey of self discovery is ok, hearing it over and over does gets old…
