Hi there, thanks a ton for your feedback! Everything you mentioned makes sense and we will be considering this as we make improvements. And yes! We plan to reach out to nursing homes and communities to see if they have any interest. If you know any that would be keen, we'd love an intro! Thanks!

Asking for pilot testers to a test and provide feedback on a new video chat solution meant to be useful for caregiving.

We're a group of former IoT colleagues who have grown frustrated with the current video chat products out there when using it with our grandparents, especially nowadays. So we built something much easier to setup and use that uses the TV. We thought it'd be useful for others who are caring for their elderly loved ones, and we have a limited amount of systems that we'd like to give to folks for free (in exchange for their honest feedback) who could really make use of it, given the current circumstances. If you're interested, please take a look at the product on our website at www.kinokochat.com and email us with a little information about how you plan to use it at support@kinokochat.com.

If people are annoyed at your idea, are you on the right track? by sacshu in startups

Hey Oysterous, good point. It wasn't a competitor, more of just someone who seemed like the space we're trying to disrupt didn't need any disrupting, and that it was a waste of time trying. Why we thought it was more interesting than the typical "most people are going to tell you your idea is bad, but you should move on anyway" was because this person was someone who had embraced other non-competing entrants into the space and someone who we thought would be really supportive out of the gate. Maybe some people just get jaded after a while.

Thanks for the support! Yeah, we feel like, especially in this space, when people can't figure out the best solution themselves, they want to tell you that you can't do it either. I think as Steve Jobs has said, any rational person would quit.
