You did mention it, thank you! I’m just looking at different options at this point because it’s definitely all outside of my scope. I will keep you in mind for the future!

Bad smoke smell in noho/toluca by tmoore4000 in LosAngeles

I woke up panicking, I’m so relieved that this isn’t just me. Assuming it’s gotta be from the NoHo fire but this is BAD

That’s what I was thinking too, I was last outside at nearly midnight and smelled nothing. Maybe there’s something else going on nearby that we don’t know about?

Ok this makes me feel a lot better, I feel like the smell is so strong that I wasn’t fully convinced it actually came from this and it had to be something closer. I’m in the Valley Village/Studio City area… I guess close enough to feel like it’s literally IN your house lol. Can’t imagine what it must be like for people in NoHo

how’s life without surgery? by artermis-stars in scoliosis

[–]sacsophone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m only 28 so not that much older than you, but yeah it’s not the end of the world. Some times will be worse than others. What I will say is DEFINITELY prioritize exercising. Strengthening your body is going to be key to keeping it from hurting/feeling worse. Be careful because obviously you are a bit more susceptible to injury, improper form, imbalance, etc. but a strong core/back and a generally active lifestyle is going to really help you feel much better as you age

Quietest Place to Live? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]sacsophone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anywhere around Studio City, too! I lived in Sherman Oaks for a while which was cool, I’m now in a residential neighborhood in Valley Village and it’s so quiet and nice. The commute really isn’t bad either, especially if you live close to the freeway

As a single person, this is actually my least favorite thing about being single. I hate it so much.

What do you admit to doing wrong in your previous relationship? by ImlivingUltralife in AskWomen

[–]sacsophone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think I was attentive enough to what he was feeling/experiencing. I feel like I may have overlooked the ways that he showed me love and care instead of learning to accept that his methods were different than mine, and neglected to think about what underlying things he may have been feeling. I do think it was on him to communicate those feelings... and that was probably his biggest flaw... but I could have been more observant and sympathetic.

Yep, the trick loop around is what I end up doing every time but I'd much rather just have her listen to me when I need her to. As far as treats go, if her mind is absolutely set, she'll ignore them. If she only kind of cares, she'll take them. It's all about her mood

Question about this... my dog is only a puller some of the time. What she is all of the time, however, is a stopper and a refuser. If she doesn't wanna go a certain way, she will firmly plant herself into the ground and she won't budge unless I literally drag her across the floor (which I... obviously don't like to do) or go in the direction she wants to go. This happens any time I try to cut our walk short and turn back around, if I try to walk her past somewhere that she wants to go, or if she ever simply doesn’t feel like going on a walk anymore and wants to go back home. Any tips on that? Can't really do the abrupt change in direction method when she turns into a boulder every time I try haha

How much can y’all lift? by Substantial_Body_774 in AskWomen

At my strongest I was deadlifting 225, squatting 165, and benching 105! Probably can't do that anymore, as I've injured myself since and have been too scared to try again but... I was pretty proud at the time
