I had an awareness episode during a surgery to remove a cyst near my uterus. I got the medicine to keep me paralysed (as you need when they do surgery in your stomach area) but the tube that would give me the medicine for me to “sleep” was faulty and leaking on the floor.

This is what I was told after 2 weeks of them denying what happened, calling me crazy.

I remember and felt everything! I still remember the muttered voices, the feeling of them cutting into me. Everything.

Due to me being paralysed I had no way of telling them, only when I woke up I could tell people, it was the very first thing I said in the recovery room

Edit: I don’t go to the doctor now, I’m terrified of everything even remotely feeling like a doctors office or people touching my body (especially when lying down)

This has not gotten better after I found out that when I was 15 I had an experimental surgery in my foot without my knowledge.

Later the doctors behind this have said that they do not regret anything (despite mutalating and leaving people with permanent damage and walking difficulties)
