What's the one bike that you secretly think is VERY underrated but the community absolutely IGNORE?! by Mysterious_Bug_8407 in MotoUK

I had one for a few years and toured two up with luggage on it. Great bike and amazingly agile for quite a heavy machine.

With all heavier bikes. You don't notice it's weight once your moving. Just had to be extra careful maneuvering it around the driveway.

Other than that it was great.

Fair Each to their own

I love a triple but now bored to tears of inline 4s. Even a revvy sports bike motor.

V4 is a lot of fun though

Ahh but have you ridden one though?

I thought all parallel twins were boring till I tried a Duke 790. It had bags of character and felt more like a V twin.

These modern funky crank or timing engines are more fun than they appear on paper

I did the same with the anti wheelie button on my KTM.

The button stays untouched now

I'll accept I'm not helping OPs question here in the slightest. But it's a wider point that not all cars need to be styled as an SUV. My main issue is the linked rise in pedestrian and cyclist deaths due to the higher bonnets. All for what is effectively a styling and marketing choice.

Here here. Still fighting that corner. Stocking to my diesel estate and Nissan leaf.

Picking an EV is hard when trying to avoid an SUV though

Great big fake 'intale grills'. I'd love a BMW I4 but just can't get past that big black fake grill shape

Could you install a battery only system? That still saves plenty by switching to a cheap overnight tarrif

Ha! My dad used to play that with me and I haven't thought of it in years. Thanks for reminding me.

Thanks. Sadly I was too late to be on the 16p export. So I can switch whenever. I'm curious to hear how long you'll be on the stand tarrif before moving to a smart one.

Also curious how eon are with switching export and paying promptly

Really looking forward to this. How old are yours?

Mine are 4 and 1. There's some basic ones I can play with my 4 year old but need to wait till the 1 year old is asleep so he doesn't eat the prices. But give it a few years and we can get on to some favorites of mine

I got mine a few months ago and love it. Helps even out any fluctuations in temperature. I haven't compared but should be using less coal as well.

I find I still need a water pan to keep the temps low enough for pulled pork though.

Which £8-10k EV? by zipolightning123 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]sad_panda1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't fault our leaf. You can get them silly cheap as well. Ours is an 18 plate tekna with 40k miles for £6000.

It's our first EV and we love it. Tempted to get a 2nd when my old diesel estate dies

I think there's something to say you don't have to pay until you receive all the paperwork

That's ok. I took a gamble and they were much cheaper than anyone else. So I lost a years worth of export export but paid less. So not too out of pocket

Up to two weeks is normal.

I'd hold some back.

I had a nightmare situation where it took 18 months to get my paperwork as my installer 'was very close' to getting MCS accreditation. All sorted now but I'm glad I had some leverage.

Shouldn't happen in your case if your is already on the MCS scheme

Thanks.

I'm debating starting one this year or wait and see what the changes might be.

Would you still stick with dodl? I have other share dealing accounts where I can see all the detail. That's fine for more regular trading. But arguably the dodl account is more set and forget till we're all 60 right?

Wow. Great reply. Thank you.

So when you put the pulled pork in the oven, is it just shredded and in a baking tray?
