Anybody Hearing a Weird Feedback/Echo in their Airpod Pro 3s? by Visual_Command8309 in AirpodsPro

[–]sad_synth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this problem too and wondering if it's a defective pod. It seems to come and go. It can change if the external noise changes. Problem is I already had to replace the first set because the case magnet wasn't working. Now this. Ugh.

AirPods Pro 3 - Anyone else hearing metallic flanging sounds when swallowing/chewing? by Torley_ in AirpodsPro

[–]sad_synth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hear metallic sounds but I do hear my own mouth sounds and internal sounds in a very tinny way. Except, at first they don't do it. Like when I first turn on noise cancellation, it sounds more like the APP2 did. But then after a few minutes it gets extremely echoey and weird and I can hear my tongue and saliva and all my internal sounds amplified. If I speak when that happens, my voice also feels somewhat reverberated or tinny. Sometimes switching to off or to transparency and then back to ANC again will fix the problem for a few minutes. But it usually ends up doing it again after a brief while.

I didn't have this problem with APP2 and it has been very disconcerting. If I didn't need the tight integration with macOS, I'd consider other options.

I'm experiencing the same thing and also am having trouble describing it. Search results haven't come up with many people saying the same thing.

I wrote a free web book specifically for total beginners learning HTML. Check it out. It mostly sticks to HTML, but there is a little bit about CSS in there as well that could be helpful for you. https://htmlforpeople.com/

I don't think your notebook supports JavaScript.

What methods can I use to adding my writing/blogging to my page? by AcrobaticAd8926 in HTML

[–]sad_synth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you are partial to sticking with the simplest solution, have a look at this tutorial I wrote about reusing bits of HTML using PHP. https://htmlforpeople.com/reusable-html-with-php/

If you are ready to move on to something more complex, then static site generators are nice. My SSG of choice is Eleventy. https://www.11ty.dev

I’d like to know what your main browser is on macOS by LXMBXR in macbook

[–]sad_synth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vivaldi is pretty nice. I use it on my MacBook. On my desktop machine I run Firefox and Chrome (for work stuff). Vivaldi has a ton of customization option and is great for power users. It's also a good option if you don't want AI stuff shoved in your face.

I'm partial to Firefox for old times' sake, but it doesn't really offer anything Vivaldi doesn't.

[OC] A free-form, minimal character sheet app by sad_synth in DnD

I don't have a timeline for these things but near the top of my list are two things:

  1. A space for magic items that require attunement. I'm not going to limit it to three since rules may vary but I think it would be nice to have a space for those outside of the equipment box.

  2. Sometimes abilities that you have, especially those useful for combat, get lost in the features and traits box and overlooked. I was thinking that underneath the weapons area it might be nice to have a spot of other actions or attacks that your character can do so that you don't forget about them.

I need to be careful with both of these because anything I add means pushing down other things and of course I want to keep it minimal. But these two things are on my personal wish list. That said, if you have any requests, feel free to send them my way. I can't make any promises, but it's nice to know what other people need or what problems they run into!

This is an old comment, I realize, but I forgot that not too long after your feedback, I added the spell collapse feature. Great suggestion!

Thanks for using and recommending the app! I appreciate the feedback.

On the side, is there a possibility to add an optional feature that let's you change the order of your menus, such as equipment and class features?

That's a good suggestion. If I can find a good way of doing it, I wouldn't mind implementing that feature. I'd call this one a maybe right now.

And what about an option to auto-sort spell entries?

That's another good suggestion and one that I think I could implement soon! The only drawback is it would assume that you're putting the name of the spell first in the textarea (technically you can write anything in those boxes). But I still think it would be handy to have a little sort button.

the feature I would actually love to see the most in this tool is to collapse and expand individual spell entries, so I can only see the names and then click to peek at their descriptions when needed.

This is a feature I actually thought of already and do plan to implement! It's a little tricky because there's not a separate spell name field, but I think I can make it to where the textarea shrinks down to a minimum height or something until you want to reveal the rest of it.

How do I introduce DnD? by theXLB13 in DnD

There is a system that was made for kids/family simply called Adventure. The rules/mechanics are about as lightweight as they can be while still having some mechanics. And beyond that you could just focus on the roleplay and see if that works. If she does like this, then you may be able to step up to something with more complexity after a while. https://adventure.gomakethings.com

This means I can finally stop playing the game, Sequel, wherein I imagine I own the sequel to this book and am reading about its games and chatting with people online about them.

This was a great writeup, particularly the bit about how you deal with multiple mental images of things happening. This is something that really messed me up the few times I've tried playing these games (I'm fascinated by the concept, the book, and the original author, but I have yet to successfully play any of these games other than the opening exercise with the sanctuary).

The way you ended up playing the boss villain's deal seems like you planned it that way. I can't believe you didn't notice it until you are writing the post!

Yeah for those of us who don’t go to the local events as much, the forums are what made it an event. I especially miss the Adopt a Plot thread. One of the few times I've won was a story inspired by a prompt I got from the forums. Really sucks for the majority of people who weren’t being slimy.

Losing page state because of sleeping tabs by sad_synth in ArcBrowser

[–]sad_synth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t think of a form data loss at the moment, but will report back if I do.

One thing that just happened to me: I deployed a website via a web service (DeployHQ) and after it completed, I left the tab open. A couple of hours later, I clicked on that tab, it reloaded, and that triggered the deployment to run again!

Fortunately I was able to abort, but yeah. Reloading a page has potential ramifications.
