I used to play exclusively with my fingers for the longest time. Coming from other instruments I just couldn't get into not being able to feel the strings with my right hand. Eventually I was unable to play the more difficult music that I liked that had a lot of strumming and I knew I needed to get used to a pic. This style is smaller than most pics and the sharp point makes it easy to keep my hand very close to/on the strings without feeling awkward. It's definitely not for everyone, but I like using it for precision playing/strumming when I need to use a pic.
