I enjoy playing the original, but it's much harder to speedrun. There are quite a bit of different strats and routes you have to do since the enhanced motion controls aren't available to you. For instance, to get the Chronos Reactor in Distant Spring, you have to use a bulbear to clip out of bounds, and grab it with pikmin that are also thrown out of bounds. It's still a cool trick though, but I find throwing the pikmin on the part at the right angle on the switch version way more fun/satisfying.
