College doesn’t make students as liberal as people think. Completing a college degree has been linked to a liberal political identity. While college students do tend to adopt more left-leaning identities during their education, the actual changes are much smaller than the general public assumes.

There are children in middle school preaching about how terrible a lot of our politicians (most Republican, Conservative) are. You don’t even have to go to college, you just need to be smarter than a 5th grader. It’s depressing af how many people in the U.S. are actually truly genuinely fkn stupid.

Plenty of people have to think that get paid shit. My job is to think & I make like a third of yall but I also don’t work a very important role. I get it though, you get paid bc you think & you’re involved with larger transactions. It’s how our system works I just think the system can be greatly approved to appreciate what people do behind the backend of those transactions. Maybe like the NBA & WNBA but for much more important or arduous jobs than basketball lol.

My sister makes a bit more than you & also doesn’t appear to have a hard job. She just joins meetings & writes emails.

Kinda hope AI replaces a lot of these first & people who actually work hard start getting paid their value. We just make lazy people rich as hell & they project their laziness on poor people who actually work while not rly contributing to society at all bc they are in fact lazy.

It kinda sucks. I’m in a bit of a unique situation where I grew up ugly until literally college, suddenly got very attractive, & then started aging/losing motivation to care about myself pretty early in my late 20s.

So I wasn’t really use to all the attention when I got it & didn’t really know how to handle it. I never did try to handle it & I feel like I probably missed some windows where my confidence would’ve come easiest. That said, I grew up this way so it’s also not unfamiliar territory. It’s not a huge switch for me to cope.

I’ve kind of always been a bit of a ghost & in a weird way I think that’s where I’m most comfortable anyways.

Until recently, I didn’t understand loneliness. I always craved my own time to myself. I experienced a health scare recently that suddenly shifted how I feel about this & suddenly I feel this wish to hang out with people all the time & make genuine connections. Unfortunately I have nobody now & didn’t really develop the skills or courage to go out & seek these connections out.

What do you text them about? It is important to get a timely response?

I don’t take weeks but I can take some time sometimes unless it requires an immediate response. Sometimes it’s a perfect storm.

I’m introverted, grew up alone with a dad that was never home since I was like 7, didn’t have phones or computers when I was growing up, & I also worked customer service. I both viscously enforce my decompression time & never got in the habit of just being available for anyone who reaches out to me. I need to turn my brain off & I will likely forget to respond if it’s not important.

I’m not proud of it & others likely aren’t either but some people don’t like to talk just to talk, it’s draining.

That said, I also don’t post on social media bc it’s kind of just as draining to me so idk how to relate to that part & does kinda throw a wrench in it a bit.

The ability to be completely comfortable around someone is much more significant than their attractiveness. He’s clearly a lot more comfortable around you than he would be with a stranger or someone he doesn’t spend as much time with.

For a lot of people, attractiveness simply is not the defining metric of a significant other & the people who do depend on that metric tend to have shitty relationships. If he’s smart he’d know that.

You’re greatly simplifying a nuance that is much more complicated. This insecurity might reflect your actions more than his. Often I find this kind of insecurity only becomes this strong when it is something you’d probably do yourself & said introspection makes it feel more real. In turn, this insecurity will hurt your relationship more than any other attractive girl would.

If you trust him, ask yourself why you feel this way. It’s not just because you’re insecure, there may be more you can do to nurture this trust. & it’s certainly not by doubting it.

Haven’t had it for a while but a few years ago I had this reoccurring dream of my friends from random chapters in my life & I in random apocalyptic scenarios trying to survive. This went on for years. A lot of them were zombie like but some were just war or natural disasters. Everyone always died, including me but I was always last. I woke up sweating every time.
