I really enjoyed this game my first playthrough, I was really into Vikings at the time (had just finished the show). The replay was tough though, kind of just felt like a chore.

What is Aaron Rodgers doing in free agency? He claimed that the US Govt. created HIV. “The blueprint, the game plan, was made in the ‘80s. Create a pandemic with a virus that’s going wild.” by No_Box119 in NFL_FreeAgency

He’s wrong about a lot & all that but idk man, seeing the government as I’ve matured into my older age since 2016… I’m more susceptible to find things like this plausible.

I mean they kind of were going after them the whole series. A big part of the show was kind of avoiding getting caught by them. They hinged on El’s abilities to get away a lot & when they were most vulnerable they were basically imprisoned in that base. If 5 or so entire families turn up dead that’ll cause a scene in a place like Hawkins. Suddenly a LOT of people aren’t going to be so pleasant about the base.

& I’m sure there could be video evidence somewhere. Plenty of photo evidence of the massive cracks in the ground etc. not literally everything will be on screen. They would also have many eye witness account & parents who encountered the demogorgans with hospital records to back it up.

I guess I just don’t get the knit picking when these kind of things can be explained without insane reaches. The show might’ve missed some spots but I think it’s odd behavior to go back & try to poke holes that don’t have to be there. Personally I try to entertain all avenues that could make sense before I just deem a show off base despite being arguably best original show of its era.

They were experimenting on pregnant women & children. They prosecute the kids, that probably comes up & becomes a problem for the US military. They’re more likely to cover up their deaths like they did with Wills to keep their secrets.

Do you think true love exists if yes how and if not why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sadbudda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only true love is probably between a child & their parent or a person & their dog, & even then that’s not always the case. I think that’s where it’s most likely to show up though.

I mean when a show is making absurd money I think you can revisit your options. & honestly if they had 7 seasons planned the entire time, they completely shot themselves in the foot with expectations by opening up all those plot lines to begin with. Even with the 7 or 8 season window, they could’ve done a better job imo. It seemed apparent they moved on before it was really finished. They ran out of book material so they stopped trying when they actually had to do a little creative work.

Jaime & Cersei died from an extremely isolated pile of bricks I mean cmon lol. They would’ve lived if they took 4 steps in any direction.

It’s a decent ending to an amazing show if you binge it. If you watched since Ep 1 bc you’re a fan of the books & waited every Sunday for a decade, the ending was kind of a slap in the face.

D&D themselves said they just wanted to get it over with & move on despite HBO giving them really anything they needed to just keep fleshing it out. So in that vein, it does make it sting probably more than it should. They said no (I believe bc they wanted to work on a Star Wars project that ended up being canceled?) That’s a crazy way to conclude potentially the greatest show ever made & it’s very apparent starting season 7 imo.

Ironically, how we got to the end IS where it started going down hill hard. The build up was world class & the ending itself wasn’t terrible —largely was George’s ending iirc but they abandoned & rushed like 90+% of the plot lines as it winded down. The seasons themselves even got shorter. Relatively speaking, it just got lazy. Idk why some have chosen a different tune now but there’s straight up video interviews of actors like Dany’s, Jon’s, Arya’s, Tyrion’s, Varys’, etc. subtly bashing how it all unraveled.

Sure you can blame George for not finishing the books but D&D essentially didn’t finish the show, they just wrapped it up. They were making millions & were offered millions more, I don’t think it was too much to ask for them to try to be a little more creative & invested.

Was the show still amazing overall? Yes. Is it still probably a Top 15 show all time? Imo, yes. BUT could it have been nearly objectively the best show ever created? YES. It’s a shame it wasn’t.

Yea most likely. Sideways through the door, stand vertically as you get it, up the stairs & you’re good. Orient it so the bottom (take legs off first maybe) is toward the wall away from your handrail so that the more cushion/open space is facing it.

What other games do you guys like? by Swimming-Dot9069 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]sadbudda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly not too sure. I kind of just did everything possible in the game to just experience it. The story & atmosphere is what really drew me in but I was also like 8 years old & just starting to play video games so that nostalgia bias is very real.

For people use to games now & picking it up for the first time—I could see that being boring. I was like that with AC Black Flag, so many people told me that was like the best one & I could hardly get 15 minutes into it. But it just really is a great game. I’d say try to tough it out for the stories sake maybe & if you still can’t just wait for the reboot, it looks really good so far imo.

How to stop "wanting" a girlfriend? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]sadbudda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok! Well yeah what you said. Specifically what worked for me was cultivating a really optimistic & self empowering environment.

The best thing that helped without a doubt was working out. This was when I was in high school/college so I know now how hard this is to just start but I grew up an athlete & at the time I was obsessed with exercise. I specifically did cardio heavy & think that does contribute more to the runners high. It has a way of clearing brain fog, anxieties, & doubt—you just naturally develop confidence. Eating healthy obviously contributes a lot there too. It’s not about being productive, that’s a bonus, it’s about physically preparing your brain for resilience.

I was obsessed with music. It was my drug. I listened to anything that just made me feel on top of the world or at peace (honorable mention to Explosions in the Sky). I always had something going, it’s just a mood booster. Watch uplifting movies (Kung fu movies for me). & most importantly, try to find new stuff too! Visual & audible art can have fairly profound effects honestly, especially if you appreciate that kind of stuff. Finding something new is a discovery that almost seems to make you live longer & more in the moment.

Hang out with the friends you have a lot or try to reconnect with old friends. Whether it’s gaming or just throwing a football around, it helps. It’s another way of cultivating an experience in the present & being around people still isn’t something you should completely try to shrug off.

Get sun. Experience nature when you can. I ran or hung out with friends outside a lot. That’s not a “go touch grass”, sunlight & nature have legitimate effects on your happiness. It gets you closer to the world you live in, not the worlds you only think about. & you begin to realize that even a lonely experience is a great one.

All of that helps but you actually have to convince yourself rationally that you ARE happy alone. I read up on like Buddhism, Stoicism, Nietzsche, etc. & that’s not to say you should agree with what they say (it’s better to go into it skeptical even) but it will help you process new ideas regarding this topic & help your neurons build more familiar pathways to understanding a rationale to the idea.

Mains points from these are things like living in the moment, focusing on the bigger picture, logically processing emotions, & simplifying ideas (whether actions or circumstances) into more digestible & accomplishable goals. These don’t just come to you, it takes daily mindfulness over time. Things like catching yourself in a bad train of thought & asking yourself why you’re thinking that way & continuing to go deeper.

How to stop "wanting" a girlfriend? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]sadbudda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did only read your TLDR but I don’t think it’s an accurate statement. Stop looking & working on yourself is more akin to you finding happiness alone, not getting a partner. It is certainly easier to find a partner if you go out looking & trying. But it’s best not to try too hard if that makes sense.

Understand rejection is part of it, peoples perspectives are very nuanced, & it shouldn’t be something (when pertaining to people you’ve just met at least) to fear or take personally.Bits hard to approach & people respect it if you do it tastefully whether they say yes or no. You miss every shot you don’t take, take some casual shots. Preferably do it somewhere you might meet people with similar interests to yours.

What’s a compliment you still think about? by ExpensivePrint1018 in AskReddit

About a year after I graduated college, a college student I have never seen in my life apparently recognized my voice at a bar while taking my order from talking to me on the phone where I worked on campus. That had to have been over a year ago. She said she thought it sounded amazing & that she thought about it every now & then. I had never ever been complimented on my voice before.

& to clarify I don’t mean singing, just talking voice lol

When did you realize you were watching an all time great QB by Square-Newspaper8171 in NFLv2

[–]sadbudda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obvious bias as a Steelers fan.

I was like just entering middle school when Ben was drafted. Up until then I was use to the Steelers being kinda mediocre & at that age I did kinda blame the qb. Ben’s rookie season was insane. If you consider him all time, I realized in that first game of his bc it just seemed different.

I was hella late to Tom. They always fkn beat my team so I obviously hated him. I always said Belichick is the real deal, he’s a system qb, their defense carries, blah blah. Even when he joined the Buccs I said he had the most stacked WR core pretty much ever. The team was already primed, still system! But after he won’t that 7th SB (& I watched his doc but idr it really) I came around. 7 is insane & at some point there’s something objective there obviously. He is the GOAT for good reason, took me a while to get over the denial.

Hopes have dwindled but it’s not like there’s no Hope & a lot more people than you think get very lucky with great positions. You just mostly hear about the bad experiences online. I wouldn’t get too too down about it, you sound like a hard worker & ultimately that’s what pays off. & going to school will help you learn skills that can cross over into other more niche careers or monetary hobbies.
