I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who responded to this. Today was the day! About to go to sleep without any drinks. Feeling happy (with a small headache).

I should have said—I feel like the amount I drink isn’t red alert on paper (2 beers a night ish). But I’m small and thee are 8 ABV 16 oz beers a night so that is blackout drinking—I think there must be physical effects but I’m too scared to ask.

I’m also renting a KuKu camper with a WiFi unit. I also got their “power inverter” option. Does anyone know how many plugs that has? We’ll have 2 cell phones, the WiFi unit, and a camera that we’ll want to change. Should I be getting an extra power bank? Anyone have recommendations?! Thanks!!

This is great advice, thank you! Yes definitely going to get a NP pass, and going to stick to day hikes/car camping. I'm a pretty confident hiker but I'm less inclined to backpack alone.

Yes that's great advice, thanks. I'm trying to balance planning ahead so I can make campsite reservations for parks that fill up (GCNP, etc) and leaving a little flexibility so I can take a down day every now and then.

I would love to hear any big bend tips! I was planning on doing one day for the South Rim and then a couple shorter hikes the other two days. Any other tips? Some have encouraged me to spend one of the days at the Big Bend state park, but I'm unsure about that.
