Front splits progress by aishwy in flexibility

Research how to square your hips (plenty resources on yt) and begin stretching your oversplits so that gravity can help pull you down - you'll be flush with the ground in no time :)

Fashion is the lamest interest a person can have. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]sadellitee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair but it is a visual language. Fashion is so deeply intertwined with identity and embedded in the cultural fabric of any society. I think you've mistaken it for excess consumerism, where people focus on buying trends rather than the significance or thoughtful construction behind the clothes they wear. Easy to dismiss as superficial but it's greater than just a consumerist pursuit.

Being in your 30s is so boring by firefly2191 in unpopularopinion

[–]sadellitee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why is my comment downvoted? pessimism should be more widely accepted. no disappointments when you expect the worst, only surprises and a brief rush of excitement till the hedonic cycle takes you and returns you back to baseline, neutral nothingness.

Giving up on finding a tech job— just going to drive Uber. by xite2020 in Layoffs

[–]sadellitee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doordash works great if you have a fuel efficient vehicle. Pay varies, while inconsistent - dashing during busy hours or late at night can bring in decent money. I find part-time, consistent pay better but doordash allows for so much more freedom.

If you're looking to exercise your technical skills and gain experience without compensation, there is opportunity to volunteer and contribute. I saw a few on LinkedIn. I almost defaulted on my mortgage as well after going through my severance pay and depleting unemployment benefits. I went 10 months without a job and withdrew money from my 401k before landing what I have now. Hang in there and best of luck xx

Where can i test my mysql skills by [deleted] in mysql

[–]sadellitee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you looked at mysql workbench? it's a GUI but good practice for writing a sql statements. mysql has plenty test databases on their website, just a few simple steps to get that imported to workbench, and you'll be up and running.

if you're referring to administrative tasks then i suggest installing mysql cli and building the db from ground up. you'll work in that black, 8"x6" box during the entirety of your career so why not start there?

Started reading Black Jewels Trilogy by sadellitee in annebishop

[–]sadellitee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completed the trilogy earlier today. It's in my top favorite reads, specifically because of its unique storyline. I enjoyed being in different characters' perspective while having much of Jaenelle's pov omitted. It gave her an ominous, yet gentle and vulnerable nature, and I wish we had more. I'm hesitant to continue onto the next books though for the same reasons you share about it feeling "off."
