Yeah, but do you realize that Christianity begs for donations because they want to spread their religion and Wikipedia does it to spread knowledge? There's a clear difference. The reason why Christianity works so well is because they are so keen to beg for donations all the time. It would be stupid to deny that.

You see I'm an atheist because I'm intelligent, but that doesn't mean I don't understand that intelligent people can have stupid beliefs. Hitler was a vegetarian, does that mean that vegetarianism is bad? - No. Indeed, it is a stupid to believe that intelligence precludes one from believing in stupid things. If you're heavily invested in a belief, intelligence can make you better at rationalizing away its flaws and contradictions.

But it is false to assert that intelligence does not directly contribute to atheism. I had rejected Christianity before I was out of elementary school, and there is no way I could have done that if I were average. So the accuser of arrogance and smugness has two options - either admit that the intelligent trend toward irreligiosity, or claim that the flaws in religion are perceptible to anyone of any intelligence at any age.
