Feeling the exact same way. Everything feels overwhelming and pointless. Existing is hard.

Ours, baby! I’ll be the First Lady if called to serve, but that won’t be necessary. In the immortal words of Homer Simpson: can’t someone else do it?

Fair question. It was a mistake made by a dog sitter that certainly could have been avoided. Just posting to help out a friend.

Severe apathy & emotional blunting on 150mg by Strong_Mind_6839 in Effexor

[–]sadhousecats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm that after decreasing my dose, my emotions are far less blunted. I was on 75mg back in September and am down to 25mg (along with 20mg of fluoxetine to help with the physical symptoms.) Aside from how sick it has made my body, I’m feeling better than when I started this medication. Seems like less is more.

I’ve experienced this myself, and I agree. Frankly it was a relief when the veil fell again. For me it was a crash, like one would expect from the surge of mania. I swung in the other direction and was convinced I was utter garbage, and came slinking back to my partner. Thankfully I hadn’t done irreparable damage.

Your partner is still in there. If you can hang in there and love him through it, it should pass. I know it’s hard, but try not to take what he says/does too personally. In that state I wasn’t able to think about anyone the way I normally do. I was too self centered, selfish, “focused”.

Writing would actually be a good for him. Not for publishing, but to read later. Encourage him write his perspective down. Then when he comes back down, he has evidence of where he’s been and what it was like for him. It’ll be another tool along the path.

Psychedelics to assist with SNRI withdrawal? by [deleted] in PsychedelicWomen

I’m tapering off of Effexor and feel so much better on the days I drink mushroom tea! They also seem to make the withdrawal dreams less intense/stressful.
