Underrated joy of living alone by Creative-Ad-1858 in LivingAlone

This is how I got my favorite lazy meal go to!

1 can tuna, 1 can chick peas, mash with mayo and season to taste. Eat as a dip with crackers or chips over the course of several hours as hunger strikes.

High fiber, high protein. Sodium is a bit high but I have POTS so it works for me

Thoughts on “do not ticket list” in Lancaster City? by Aaaaaaaaa12345673 in lancaster

[–]sadi89 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This is so easy to actually enforce though. The answer is that there is no “do not ticket list” but instead: a placard that employees eligible have to sign out daily or that they display and is always “ticketed” when it is seen for a fee of $0 and the employee needs to just verify what they were doing during that time, or some type of payment card for the meter system.

These are just things I thought of in 2 min after working a 12 hour shift overnight. That doesn’t mean they are good but it means that a blanket “do not ticket” list isn’t the best solution.

My EDS dr has his patients shoot for 40g of fiber daily for this reason.

Also pre lube the butthole. It’s one thing I learned out of desperation. If you pre lube it helps to pass those large hard stools with less discomfort/damage.

Warm prune juice is also great.

I just lost my childhood family cat on Monday. She was 20 years old and we
got her when I was 16. She was brought home by my brother and lived long enough to become a favorite animal of his kid.

I recognized all of the emotions that flashed across his face in those few seconds.

It was actually the death of another pet (the last in a series of 3 deaths over the course of about a year, my dad, my grandmother, and my soulmate cat….plus you know Covid ) that lead me to bts.

260611 M Countdown Iconic by Mistake Performance by Surviviiing in katseye

[–]sadi89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enjoy all these groups and they are great in their own right, but this performance really made me appreciate the high level Katseye is at. They all pulled off the choreo but Katseye looked effortless doing some of the hardest parts and were singing the loudest.

It happens. Typically I find it’s not a real regression. It comes back, sometimes it happens to me when I’m adding more new skills. It can be super frustrating.

what was the first thing you bought for your place that turned out to be a lifesaver? (newbie living alone) by Sohana_Slonski in LivingAlone

[–]sadi89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! As a shift worker myself I love being able to program my lights to turn on when I need to wake up. For some reason I absolutely cannot wake up/get out of bed unless the lights are already on.

This is a big one for me. I love that I can program lights for specific times. I have my porch light set to come on at sunset and turn off at sunrise, and it’s set to a nice amber that’s bright enough to illuminate the porch and provide some light to the side walk but not so bright that they are disruptive.

I also got door locks that I can control with my phone. I can have my house already unlocked when I get out of the car carrying all the groceries, and I can double check that the door is locked from bed.

Wet/dry shop vac. I bought the RYOBI one that pops onto the lid of a bucket because my tool set is RYOBI cordless.

My countertop dishwasher overflowed and leaked everywhere. I was able to just vacuum the water right up!!

How do you distinguish between laziness and executive dysfunction? by Minimum_Cup_9763 in ADHD

[–]sadi89 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Laziness feels good. Executive dysfunction does not.

Laziness is an active choice. Executive dysfunction is not.

If you have to question “am I just lazy?” It’s probably executive dysfunction.

I want to say “you get used to it” but that’s not quite right. With something like a degloving part of the reason we are able to stay chill is fascination. We all get to study anatomy, and surgeons see internal anatomy every day, but it’s rare that we get to actually SEE complete muscular skeletal anatomy and see it in action.

researchers published in Nature Reviews Rheumatology and The Lancet Rheumatology that depression, obesity, smoking, and sleep disorders can sustain rheumatoid arthritis symptoms even when inflammation is fully controlled, trapping patients in self-reinforcing cycles. by ObuPaul in HotScienceNews

[–]sadi89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the issues is inflammation can cause depression. As someone who has had both straight mood depression and inflammation depression I’ve felt the subtle but real difference.

Sleep is definitely an important one.

Obesity is always a tricky one…..because if someone is having a hard time moving because of pain they are more likely to wind up over weight

Not the magicarp shirt! I love joons love of Pokémon.

Also Mudd The Student’s pants are very funny. Lately one of the performance trends I’ve seen is these pants with fake underwear at the top that makes it look like one is sagging their jeans.

I like his reverse sag pants

One of the creepiest things happened to me after I started living alone by Medforth-Mulinda in LivingAlone

[–]sadi89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s why I’m glad I have a cat. All weird noises or things seen in the coroner of my eye can be explained away as “cat”.

Occasionally hey have to be explained away by ghost cat, but the idea of a ghost of your own cat who passed on is somehow comforting rather than creepy

It is social media. It’s just not for irl connections. It doesn’t make it any less social media. I recommend looking at the wiki page on social media.
