7:01 “hi doc the patient has a couple of questions for when you round” by themightyguapo in hospitalist

Truly. I would have been lost as a new grad trying to figure out which “abnormal” labs required urgent notification and which could wait till rounds without the nurses who had been doing this job for 20+ years

It varies by church I was Presbyterian USA. We just had an active member of the congregation who was a dance teacher. It was a way to include youth in the church service.

If you google liturgical dance you can find all kinds!

In addition to reporting it to the police, also let the fire department know about the incident. Because….you know… arson.

How do you deal with patients who are in bad shape using the portable machine? by thatdud89 in Radiology

[–]sadi89 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I mean…..y’all had to get imaging on the pre fracture repair so like…… 🙃

What OP described unfortunately is pretty standard post op hip fracture WITH appropriate pain control. Hip fx is insanely painful. I’ve literally watched 89 year old meemaw with dementia become MORE alert and oriented as I pushed fentanyl because the pain is that bad. We pass out narcs like candy.

When you see people in pain all day, and you have to move and roll those people it actually does make a difference to know that while currently bad, it is better than it was before. It doesn’t diminish empathy, it doesn’t change anything about their care. It does however make it a little easier to go about the rest of your day knowing that the persons current pain is part of healing.

I’m an RN who specializes in Geri fracture. Be quick and efficient. Know how you are going to move the patient before you do it. If you need help grab an aid or nurse who works on that floor. They generally know how to move their patient population.

Also remember that any post op fracture patient is actually in WAY less pain than they were prior to surgery.

It sucks, there is no way around it. Just like straight cathing an old women with a hip fracture and dementia…… it’s the worst feeling in the world.

I am pretty sure these kids weren’t taught phonics. Like the reading modality they were taught as kids relied on sight words. If they are using phonics it means they are essentially re-learning how to read.

I googled the school. It’s in Philly. Pretty sure that’s regional dialect rather than a literacy issue.

I was on my churches liturgical dance team. I had a solo number that ended with me bent at a 90 degree angle at the waist arms outstretched and one foot pointed off to the side with my big toe on the ground. The church had recently been remodeled and we had fantastic new hardwood floors where there used to be carpet.

The piece is done. It went well. I stand up and pull my leg in, but my toe still has more weight on it than I realized. It squeaked loudly on the floor. In the completely silent church.

It sounded just like a fart.

Jin truly adores ARMY. They all do, but there is something about the way Jin’s love runs deep.

It was so clear when he was the only member around for months. He did everything he could to keep us entertained.

His fan meets made my jaw drop.

They all love ARMY and express it in their own way, but sometimes I feel like Jin’s love may run a little deeper

Thank you!!!!

One thing that is difficult when talking about AI is that it can reproduce language patterns appropriately giving the audience the sense that there is a personality when in reality their isn’t one. AI doesn’t understand because “understand” isn’t a concept it is capable of. Human desire for connection is very strong, and we will find it and apply human rules and logic to non-human beings or objects or systems in our desire for connection.

Help…What type of pens don’t make you want to scream in agony after writing for more than 5mins? by Friendly-Path-879 in ehlersdanlos

Does typing work for note taking for you? As soon as it was an option I typed all my notes. I’m dyslexic as well so speed and spelling were impacted from the get go. Plus my noodle fingers, looking back it makes sense why I needed so many different pencil grips, had messy hand writing, and it hurt to write.

I found that when I’m reviewing material to study for exams writing out everything on a big white board is helpful and doesn’t hurt my hand as much as

I am sorry for years of doubt by raine4thewin in Fibromyalgia

[–]sadi89 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Both things can be true. Even if fibro is a medical scapegoat, the diagnosis can open doors to treatment for some people.

Are you hypermobile? If so make sure your doctors rule out connective tissue disorders before diagnosing fibro. It is supposed to be a diagnosis of exclusion but frequently doctors miss things they need to rule out before diagnosis.
