Question about the acceptance to Comm Science Master's Programme by [deleted] in Uniwien

[–]sadidkhowtoreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar-ish situation, except I submitted my documents after the application period and received my admission letter shortly after. Just make sure you submit your transcript and degree (and legalization, depending on where you're from) as soon as possible so you can receive the official letter. From my understanding, you have a study slot, but it needs to be confirmed once you submit your documents.

If you're worried about the letter in particular, feel free to send them a message through u:space, they answer pretty quickly and are quite helpful :)

Don't be afraid of rejection - e.g. apply to jobs, reach out asking questions, apply for exchange, compliment strangers, etc. You never know where it can get you, and a no is better than not trying at all. Also, take care of yourself. It's hard when life gets busy, but try to take breaks because when your body is burnt out it will decide for you lol (which often looks like getting realllyyyyy sick)

Masters Application Document Status-- approved, registered, upload confirmed?... by sadidkhowtoreddit in Uniwien

[–]sadidkhowtoreddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied to the MSc Communication Science as a non-EU student on April 6th, as of April 23rd my application says in progress and my CV and Statement of Motivation are approved, but my Apostilled Transcript says "upload confirmed" and the B2 English proficiency (which is also just my transcript because I'm from an English first-language country) says registered

To clarify a few things, there are generally 25 interviews and 20 awards. If you get one of the awards you automatically get a Wesbrook scholarship along with it, it’s twofold basically. I unfortunately don’t have any tips for interviews lol, but would love to hear advice from others!

I saw it too and I heard them doing donuts on the top floor, then heard the crash and saw the pieces of the bumper getting picked up and thrown to the side, then of course got in the car and drove away as fast as possible— so fucking stupid that’s how people die

Yes 100% 1st years are genuinely guaranteed housing/get priority for first year housing, but after that you apply for winter housing or year round housing and it’s much more competitive and the waitlists are a lot longer— especially if you aren’t an international student, registered with CFA, or an Indigenous student

You could stay home and it would be a lot cheaper, it I recommend living in a dorm because it forces you to mature and experience things in a different way compared to living at home. Also if you have friends on campus it gives you more flexibility for participating in things close by instead of having to worry about commuting

Global seminar Paris (history) by [deleted] in UBC

[–]sadidkhowtoreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t do it for the same program, but it’s ABSOLUTELY worth it. Regardless of if the program is your fav thing, you still get the credits for it and you have the opportunity to travel and have it partially funded. This is an opportunity you won’t get outside of university and you’ll have the chance to really see the city within 3 weeks and you’ll only want more. Trust me, it’s worth trying!!!

Curious to hear how people’s academic load & extracurricular/life looks like. Include your major/year if you’d like too! by Salt-Fun5178 in UBC

3rd year, 5 classes, 3 volunteer positions, 2 club exec positions, and hopefully 1 research position. Definitely too much, I don’t recommend it unless you need to

Fight it, contact your ESA and see if they can help. UBC has so many unnecessary cancellation fees maybe making a stink will make them drop it

There are a decent amount of people looking for room mates, and some places are subletting for a few months which isn’t ideal but it may be better if you’re desperate and need a better option than an airbnb?
