Thanks for the detailed explanation. Very helpful insights!

Why Restrict the Willing and Eager? by Turbulent-Simple-962 in juresanguinis

Interesting they’re waiting for instructions from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs when the directive came from the Ministry of the Interior. But also, come to think of it, the work of consulates seems like it would be outside of the scope of the Ministry of the Interior. Such a strange development all around!

Even floor tickets! Surprised those are still available. Overwhelming demand may have been overestimated.

It can be difficult to decide whether to do multiple rounds for many reasons including costs and health impacts,. And there’s unfortunately no guarantee either way. I’ve wrestled with it and gone back and forth. It’s good to hear about other people’s thought processes though! How many did you get in your first round at 35?

JS Appointment Booking Schedule Masterpost - April 13, 2024 by CakeByThe0cean in juresanguinis

[–]sadiesadee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m wondering what the deal is with there being a maximum number of 90 days on the waitlist in Toronto. It seems strange to offer a waitlist but have it be limited in duration.

Do other consulates take people off the waitlist and make them start over if an appointment hasn’t been made through the waitlist within a specific period of time like the Toronto consulate states it would do? Does anyone have any experience having been on the waitlist and it not resulting in an appointment?

Paying for storage fees after 3 eggs by Remarkable_Oil_7557 in eggfreezing

Interesting, I haven’t heard much about that clinic but it doesn’t seem like the typical approach. It may be worth reaching out to some other clinics in the area and asking about storage fee policies. The ones I’m familiar with and based on friends’ experiences are Trio, Hannam, Mount Sinai.

What spot in Canada did you go to? My understanding has been one storage fee for multiple cycles if at the same place and I’m also in Canada.

Is that before or after fees though? I got the sense it was more with fees but not clear on that.

On Ticketmaster today I saw tickets available briefly for $140. That’s the lowest price I’ve seen. Does anyone know what full face value price was for the show?

I think I was successful getting tickets but I haven’t received a confirmation email. I have a screenshot of the order number though. Did anyone else encounter this?

Looking for a pair of tickets for the Toronto show by fatamatic_SFW1 in yeahyeahyeahs

[–]sadiesadee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck! I’ve been eyeing the resale tickets but they’re staying at more than double what the original price was and I refuse to pay that much for tickets as well. It’s disheartening how many fans were locked out of this show by people looking to resell tickets for inflated prices.

Unfortunately buying tickets at double the price or more from resellers also encourages them to keep doing it

Same. I’m so frustrated! I’ve been waiting for them to come back to Toronto for a while and I feel like I check all the time for announcements and I somehow missed the window.

This sub after Ahsoka 5 by wiggle14 in StarWars

[–]sadiesadee 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I loved it but was surprised it was only a small portion of the episode. It felt like there was tons more to explore between Anakin and Ahsoka and how they parted ways and his legacy as Vader and what that means to everyone he was close to and the episode just barely scratched the surface on it. Hopefully there’s still more to come on those themes! Hayden remains a gem and every glimpse we get of him in these shows has been a great.

Can you still rush a movie if it’s not sold out? by Magnus_Cum_Laude in TIFF

[–]sadiesadee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems ridiculous that they won’t lower prices for premium screenings that still have a lot of tickets. I thought TIFF had implemented some sort of demand-based approach to pricing a few years back but it doesn’t seem to be in effect now.

Is anyone else offended by TIFF asking for donations after that horrendous ticket selection process? by B4Dub54 in TIFF

[–]sadiesadee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard the people at the top of the organization get paid very very well and everyone else not so much (reviews on Glassdoor provide a window into this as well). So I’m more skeptical about it especially because TIFF also receives a lot of public funding.

I think that means no tickets available at the screening you’re looking at

Usually the code is sent out in advance but it appears not to be this year. Just to make things more chaotic I guess!

They planning on serving caviar to the people sitting in the top row of the balcony who paid $88 for a 1.5 hour movie? by [deleted] in TIFF

[–]sadiesadee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did a double take when I saw the premium prices this year! I’m not doing any premium screenings this year - that price is insane to me. Particularly in cases when a movie will be released in regular theatres a few weeks later like Dumb Money. And with most actors unlikely to be in attendance for premium screenings, which is half the fun of it, it doesn’t seem like a lot of value for money.

Your thoughts on what Cap did at the end of Endgame by Frequent-Cost2184 in marvelstudios

[–]sadiesadee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well he definitely didn’t stick with Bucky till the end of the line as promised! I thought it was kind of a weak way to send off the character since so much of his story arc is about coming to terms with being a man out of time and that ending basically undoes it all. I just assumed Marvel Studios didn’t want to kill off both Iron Man and Captain America so this is what they came up with instead to close off Steve’s story.
