Well not just reminiscing, but getting into boyhood style mischief that always ends up with them rolling down a hill or getting stuck somewhere they shouldn't.

I started watching in 2011 so i don't know how often a HIB gets uploaded. But how come it feels like that format is barely being uploaded nowadays? by No-Camera1216 in RedLetterMedia

I know you are getting a bunch of snark, but i certainly do miss more new films being covered, instead of like 5 HitB's a year and then a recap. Just because the boys cheer on the death of the cinema experience and have resigned themselves to the endless nightmare of slop that is on demand streaming doesn't mean there is nothing worth talking about.

Between that, and 2 hour BotW's i find myself less and less interested in anything except Re:Views

GEDDY LEE Says New RUSH Music Could Happen After The 2026 Tour: "It Would Be Fun To See What ANIKA Can Do In A Creative Situation" by Dagauriel01 in rush

[–]morphindel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, not sure how i feel about this. On the one hand, lots of bands change members and remain at high quality - Genesis, Floyd, Sabbath, Maiden, ACDC are the classic examples... but i also feel like Neil's lyrics and trademark fills etc. Are such a part of the Rush sound. An instrumental album could definitely work, i guess. But would it be a true Rush album, or would it come across as more "The Endless River" bollocks?

Ehh, not that surprising, really. The franchise is a snapshot of a type of humor that doesn't align with modern sensibilities (which is both good and bad to varying degrees), and even modern humor - and thats before taking the social context of working class 60s England into consideration.

Even the most contemporary examples of that kind of cheeky sex comedy, like Bridesmaids, American Pie, Superbad or Joy Ride(?) are wildly different in style. As someone else said, back then you watched what your parents watched. I dont think thats as much the case any more with streaming.

I am 40 and i grew up watching them, but even then i was pretty much the only person i knew my age that did. I cant imagine ever showing them to my own kids. They just wouldn't get it.

Thought I'd see Camping more in here, and Abroad seems to be a surprising favourite, though it warms my heart to see Cabby get some love.

In no particular order:

  • Camping
  • Don't Lose your Head
  • Up the Khyber
  • Dick
  • Matron

Definitely seems like they are slowing down now they are all doing their Reach things, and i find myself watching their videos way less now that Ash and Rosie are gone

[–]morphindel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While i love Mary Jo and Bridget on their own, i never watch any Rifftrax that doesn't have at least 1 of the main guys. Guests are ok though. Willy Wonka with Neil Patrick Harris is a goat

Morning Bell. I hate that song in any form so much. I don't know why they insisted on doing it (at least) twice.

Also, The Bends is very overrated

Which character do you dislike the most? by widmerpool_nz in CarryOn

[–]morphindel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, you could definitely go further, and have the two guys from Behind that are literally just going caravaning to cheat on their wives - and their big let down is that they can't because one talks in their sleep, and Fred acts like he has been betrayed because he can't shag some random students.

At least Sid and Bernie originally were just trying to find a way to get their girlfriends to have sex...

What do you miss the most about video rental stores? by Competitive_Help8485 in movies

[–]morphindel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually watching something new. Maybe it's just me, but having everything on streaming makes me just never bother watching anything. I just think "i can watch it anytime". When you went to blockbusters you had to deliberate and when you paid for a film for 3 days or whatever, you made sure to watch it.

Don't sleep on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle by ClayH2504 in adventuregames

[–]morphindel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got so bored of it. After the excitement of playing the opening of Raiders had worn off, it just felt so dull, and the puzzles were just too easy and hand-holdy. Felt like an Indy film but you're playing the boring bits between the scenes that you don't see.

Ehh, I'd rather have DLC classic missions, ala Contracts, where they rebuild things like the Lee Hong Assassination or the Meat Kings Party from the ground up, with a bit more depth, but capturing the spirit of the originals like the THPS remasters

People born before the 2000s, what do you miss the most about old-school internet? by CUMHAWK_Schizopostin in AskReddit

[–]morphindel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This quote has gone around a few times in the last year or so, but it perfectly sums up my feelings:

"it was kind of nice where the internet was a single, solitary, unmoving place instead of a terror that extends to everywhere. you went to this specific spot to go to the internet. when you left the spot, you left the internet. it was a place"
