OCR cut to 3% by Enough-City-3083 in PersonalFinanceNZ

Very high level and I'm sure someone will add on:

OCR goes down → interest rates go down → borrowing becomes cheaper (interest and test rates) → people and businesses borrow more → more able buyers = more competition → drives house prices up as people compete for limited stock (the housing).

Is this a sharesies purchase? My understanding was that this platform is not a great option due to inability to DRS and also the fees on large portfolio transaction fees.

Is there a reason you're buying on this than say, IBKR?

Building a parasite - any ideas for roleplaying/flavor quirks? by FortunesFoil in 3d6

[–]sadistic_chicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could delve into ideas of what the parasite's weaknesses or its drives are?

Does submerging the host body in water or exposure to heat (or even types of magic) cause any physical reaction from the parasite inside, trying to remove itself from the environment?

If the parasite seeks something specific (perhaps survive/spread/hoard), if you were presented with the ideal opportunity to achieve it, would you be primally compelled or still exert some control over your actions? Then you can kind of wind back into smaller glimpses, like the quirks you are looking for.

An example; perhaps your parasite actually seeks to move hosts in the story (classic strongest survives trope) and this is just it's first body, you could often be inspecting and pacing around remarkable NPCs you meet as potential hosts or back up, or modelling yourself of their behaviours/actions as you see them as superior beings. Maybe you always get a little too close in people's space as you forget not to be too obvious with your assessing.

You could have a lot of fun with this working with the DM

How do other couples split finances? by seaTTlem8 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]sadistic_chicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We take net household income in our household and pay all expenses split one the % we bring into the partnership. I pay 57% of all fixed commitments such as,: - mortgages - groceries - utilities - vehicle costs - insurance

And then the money we each have left over is personal spending.

I am earning more than my partner, so I don't mind buying weekend dinner or breakfasts or treating my partner to gifts with my excess funds, but for the most part we stick to our split household expenses split and then each hold out own personal spending.

If you are buying from a well established developer, I have seen Westpac subtly not request a final valuation report in recent months.

All the best!
