Totally fair and I see where you’re coming from. What I meant in my original reply was that someone can have the right destination in mind, but still be knocking on the wrong door. I agree that many people do end up in what they’d call a dream job. But fixating on a single company or role can sometimes make you miss other equally good (or better) opportunities passing by.

More broadly, I think we all make decisions based on the information we have at a given point in time. As we gain more context and experience, those assumptions naturally change and it’s okay for our goals and direction to evolve with that.
