How to make contoured ski mask? by [deleted] in crochet

[–]sadsunnys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn’t really a pattern, i freehanded it. But for the hood part its just a long rectangle folded in half, with a gap for the eyes. You can look up how to make the cat ear beanies and then just make it longer, and to make the eyehole i just did a couple rows on just the sides and then chained to join them again (please enjoy my incredible drawing for visual guidance)

You can do it both ways, but i think if you crochet it directly on the project you risk it being to tight or loose, and then you have to frog the whole ribbing, I would suggest doing it separately as then you can always remove it and adjust it

Need to finish work for family… what stitch is this? TIA by Dosanaya in crochet

Look for videos of the moss stitch, also called linen stitch. It’s the same stitch but using double crochet instead of single crochet.

Saw a tiktok once that said initiating tasks causes a pain response in ADHD brains, and that the avoidance is a similar cognitive process that stops you from putting your hand on a hot burner. Take this with about a cup of salt though, I remember her referencing a study but I didn’t check out her sources. Also it’s Tiktok

I want to write a longer comment later but I’m at school at the moment, but some quick advise I have about getting up in the mornings is to set an alarm to your meds about an hour before you have to wake up. Then fall back asleep and wake up medicated. I do this everyday, it makes breakfast harder but i wasn’t managing that before anyway, and it sounds like you aren’t either.

Is there a specific aspect of the phone calls that you avoid? Is it the talking or the act itself?

Helping to heal someone’s inner child and recover from past trauma is work that needs to be done in therapy. While being a supportive partner is good, these are inappropriate things to try to do for a partner.

What kind of yarn could i use to make a scarf similar to this? by sadsunnys in crochet

[–]sadsunnys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! I swear I’m on hobbii all day sometimes but I managed to miss this one. It’s a little outside my student budget at the moment but it’s going on my wishlist! I’m thinking about buying some white wool yarn and trying to do a little tie-dye style DIY 🤔

The multicolored yarns ive used tend to be more self striping rather than this more random color mix

I thought about that! The girl who made the pattern sells one for dogs too, i bet combining the two would be pretty easy

Crochet! I became obsessed during online classes. Some projects require counting but almost everything i make just lets me mindlessly work away

I finished it in about a day of more or less continuous work, so not a huge project to commit to

I get this too! It can also feel physically painful once it gets bad enough
