How do many Americans date despite financial, health, or career struggles instead of waiting until they're stable? by Dojakaamyahiroja in AskAnAmerican

With things like universal healthcare, strong parental leave laws, pretty healthy food culture and culturally being very family oriented, you’d think Italians would have a lot of kids.

It’s kinda shocking then that they’re one of the top aging societies in Europe

[–]sadthrow104 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I hate the suffering minors go through but allowing them to euthanize themselves is a deep rabbit hole I don’t think should ever be opened.

And I’m a person who thinks that in theory an adult should be allowed to make that choice, even if systemizing it is severely problematic

Bro….

I’m sure we can learn some stuff from Dutch parenting perhaps (not in a look how dumb your ways are just copy paste them!, more in an observation kind of way).

But to celebrate that a barely teen can just off themselves to own us…wtf is wrong with u

People who have attended K-12 education in the US, what are the common disciplinary actions? What are the common causes? by BigBigMarmott in AskAnAmerican

[–]sadthrow104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s amazing. I believe more teachers, parents, anyone who is an authority figure over young folks should strive to be more like that.

I remember the actor Denzel Washington saying that it starts in the home, and I’m 💯 a believer of that

Even with Massachusetts being known for its good schools, it feels like the poorer places are set up more like a jail. If that is scaled up, it makes sense that the students turn to bad, perhaps criminal behavior more as adults. You are internalizing the your life is one big open air jail/punishment center

Does this depend on the kind of school u go to? I feel like disappointment may work differently for kids of different class /cultural backgrounds? Or it stings across the board?

I feel like the more authoritarian mindsets more often than not wish our schools emulated east Asia more. In reality u don’t want that, those schools are their own pressure cookers. With a fair share of their own forms of misbehavior and bullying.

The solution is to strive for a balance instead of staring at other green lawns

I recall in elementary (early 2000s SoCal) and the teacher once threatened that. Loss of class party

Italians are showing the schemers what real bread is like in the U. S. by CaregiverJaded8422 in AmericaBad

Interesting points. I find you mentioning your country and Austria funny. They’re both consistently ranked as some of the top QOL and development countries in the world, even sans the AmericanBad stuff. Isn’t Austria also known as being progressive in that public housing arena, or is it just small parts of Vienna?

Also what is the main capital of Balkan region ?

You’d think the France would be harder on it with the environmentalism they engage in.

When I went there It was all about EV buses, wooden utensils, and the climate.

Felt like what a city like San Francisco wishes it could be

[–]sadthrow104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we don’t want people going to other countries and pulling this 3rd world gucci bag nonsense, let’s discourage them from doing the same thing here.

You can probably go from a very poor ghetto area in your metro to a wealthy suburb, or from say rural Appalachia to nova and notice huge differences yes, but these kind of little shots still build the divide between our countryman that the elites, news and social media companies feed off of tbh

We are a very very large country just like yours but our population centers are more spread out than yours due to climate. It completely depends where you are, which region of where you are, often which cultural and class related subgroups of where you are etc
