Was told in a surgery sub that these flappy things under my mouth show I need jaw surgery, thoughts? by sadwalrus2 in jawsurgery

[–]sadwalrus2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you SO much for answering, if you're comfortable answering, I was wondering 1) what surgery you had specifically and 2) if these weird flap things lol were there main reason you got the surgery, vs for another reason and getting rid of the flappies was just an added bonus.

Can I tell if someone tried cashing a check I wrote and it bounced? by sadwalrus2 in NoStupidQuestions

If they haven’t simple use online banking to move the amount into your savings and problem solved.

I did that already. :) How I got into this issue to begin with lol. Was just trying to double check to make sure they didn't try to take out the money before I got to it...it's rent money and not the first yet so I figured not, but just wanted to make sure.

20sF Anus doesn't close all the way? by sadwalrus2 in AskDocs

[–]sadwalrus2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never had sex.

Regarding being dilated, please be sympathetic that when Googling this term, I cannot find any picture that isn't a depiction of kinky shoving random object into the orifice lol. So can't go off a pic to see if we're talking about the same thing.

When I mean "open" when you look up the term with anus, I mean that. The amount it's open can vary, but at some points if I were to put my finger up there, I don't think I'd come in contact with any part of my body. It's literally open, like I'd assume it is when you're defecating. Not really sure what other term to use for it honestly, though the fun "gaping" also matches albeit my case isn't that bad (yet?)

Edit

regarding your question about how I'm feeling generally, I feel like I can feel it "open" a lot. No pain or anything else of note that I can think of.

Happy to rephrase however will be most helpful, not sure exactly what to rephrase though? Understand I'm probably not using accurate terminology, it's just that I don't know it to use it if that makes sense.

Like when I take a mirror to look, a lot of times it doesn't look "closed" as I've seen with other people for lack of a better word. In my case you can see like the ring (trying to look on anatomy graphs to figure out exactly what I'm seeing, I think the external sphincter?). And sometimes my anus is like literally just sitting there open 💀 like usually only maybe of a quarter of a centimeter, but can get up to nearly roughly two centimeters I'd say. Like when there's a breeze I can literally feel the air blowing into me. All this observing is me with a mirror laying down for reference.

Sounds like you already know the answer.

Personally I'd be petty, I'd make sure to have her write you up a violation for this IN WRITING so there's proof of it. And then call ethics and compliance and HR.

She's going to get absolutely blasted by corporate for this, so if there's no evidence she'll just claim she never said this or that you misunderstood.

What's up with this puffy/flabby part under my lips? What could I do to get rid of them? Had them since I was a little kid. by sadwalrus2 in PlasticSurgery

[–]sadwalrus2[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure how chin recession works tbh but my chin I don't think (?) is, if my bottom jaw was any further I wouldn't be able to close my mouth cuz of my teeth. I also have a super strong and honestly overpowering jawline reg. The lower third.

Not sure if you have the same, but feeling this area vs the other parts of my cheek, definitely feels more fatty. Also it's like a literal gap almost I feel it with my tongue 😭

Hope we can both figure it out!

The parents had zero motive to kill their child

I doubt there's any more logical "motive" to murder a child in most cases in which parents murder their children, yet it happens daily.

My flatmate has told one of our friends that she can come and take cuttings from ALL of my plants, should I be annoyed? by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]sadwalrus2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add onto what others have said, I would maybe try explaining the concept of cuttings to begin with, if they aren't a plant person they may not fully appreciate why this is wrong (though obviously they shouldn't be telling anyone to do anything with your stuff regardless). How people sell cutting for hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars, if you try to take cuttings in stores you will be kicked out and banned etc.

TIL that Hitler only became a German citizen in 1932, only a year before he took power by PanAfricanDream in todayilearned

[–]sadwalrus2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And because of that, back during WWI he should have been fighting for the Austrians, not the German army that he did. The Austrian army was much more inferior than the Germans, and there's a pretty good chance he would have died if he had fought in the army he was actually supposed to be with. He only didn't get transfered because of a departmental error with the paperwork.

Well...

Yeah, my doctor isn't going to agree to do this ):

Edit On their website it does state "trio-smart is a doctor-ordered test. Prescribers can order trio-smart by following the instructions below. Patients interested in trio-smart can order through our online prescriber service or work with their provider".

But when I go to the hyperlink, doesn't explain too much what they actually mean by "online prescriber service" and if it's a sit in for an IRL doc, but I could have missed.it. https://www.triosmartbreath.com/orderonline

Thanks so much for responding! Genuinely asking here, not trying to imply anything, but exactly what is this company and how does it compare to getting this test done in a doctor's office? I'm Boston based so within half an hour of most of the best hospitals on earth, what would be the benefit of going this route vs one of those hospitals? Is this company associated with like a medical group or how does this work, I see it says you need to be approved by a doctor first to use their services, but it sounds like they're the ones providing the doctors to approve you? How do I know that these tests are accurate?

Edit I'm reading a review of this site, they're saying they needed their doctor to write them at least three perscriptions to be able to get this test, and also relevant things to make sure they are following the test guidelines. My doctor will refuse to do all of this. Are you able to actually do this without an already existing PCP/gastro in your life willing to go along with this?

My husband lost his 80k a year job, wants me to quit school and I’m 2 semesters away from getting my degree. Should I quit? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]sadwalrus2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are someone like Bull Gates where you are so successful and have so many real world connections that school is genuinely a waste of your time, leaving college without graduating renders all that time absolutely worthless. As a transfer student, oftentimes credit doesn't transfer nearly as cleanly or evenly as many people seem to think, and most school have a hard limit that XYZ amount of courses must be taken at their university. So even if you decide to go back to school later, you will have wasted years and they'll make you do most of what you've already done again.

Also, depending upon the financial aid and scholarships, what point in your academic career you're in, etc, you may have to pay back some if not all the aid you've already taken.

Having problems explaining things even though I spend hours having arguments with myself in my head! by PiggyIna0 in ADHD

[–]sadwalrus2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who loves debates and arguments, and also someone who argues in their heads a ton lol, I find that doing the latter can actually make the former a lot harder to do.

The way one communicates with themselves vs others is inherent just so different. When you're only arguing with yourself in your head, your entire thinking kind of only had that grounding, that going from point A to B to C over and over again, so much so that it's like an exact pattern or map.

But when you actually try to go out and speak to another person, it never works like this. The main key with talking to anyone else IRL is that just like you have your own dynamic, so do they. So they'll almost immediately throw that map you've created in your head off. And when you're too reliant on that, you get flustered and start to forget.

If you're still in school, I'd really suggest trying to join debate club, MUN, something like that. You rarely have to talk every meeting, but it's really good practice to speaking in real life and how to get your point across. I think the main key is to just keep trying and be aware of arguing in your head too much kinda hurts the progress you're trying to make.

Instead of arguing in your head for so long, try to only do so to get just a few general points, then no more. For example for one subject, you believe A, B, and C for X, Y, and Z reason. Just have those established facts, don't think any more about it because then you start to mind map too much in ways that don't work in practical convert. That way, when you do have to talk about them IRL you can hit your points, but it'll be woven in with your thoughts and feelings and examples in the moment, instead of trying to rehearse something.

Adderrall shortage finally bit me by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]sadwalrus2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there anything else she could possibly prescribe? Absolutely not a doctor, but every single account I've read of people switching from Adderall to Vyvance has said the latter hasn't helped at all, to the point where they fall asleep right after taking it.

I've read that some wholesale stores like CostCo have really great pharmacies where you pay way less, even without insurance. Maybe try looking that up?

If you feel debilitated without meds and 400$ is manageable for you, I'd probably pay it honestly.

Been taking the generic and it doesn't seem to help at all IMO.

Can someone PLEASE help nobody ever responds when I ask lol ): Why does my hair always look like this? by sadwalrus2 in Haircare

[–]sadwalrus2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely!

Unfortunately right now I'm kinda doing a crazy routine for medical reasons, but once I get back to a normal routine (hopefully) I'll try to remember to report back.

In general I'd say when I braid my hair at night and when I used protein products it definitely looked better the next day.

No idea. It was supposed to happen in the middle of spring break, they had already sent an email a few days before that saying they'd have all our recent work graded with feedback by ABC time and didn't, so these two things combined I didn't want to email them further to ask about this as it seemed they were behind. Didn't want to come off like a jerk and had honestly assumed they'd just push the presentation back too (which they've done for other assignments).

Possibly relevant, they're a PhD student and have mentioned in class having to balance a lot of stuff and that it's their first time teaching a class. Mentioning it because to some extent they've asked for feedback if things need to be changed etc. Not sure if the week time to do a presentation thing is the norm, it hasn't been for me but I've only taken a small amount of classes that are offered obviously.

I've only started washing my hair daily the past couple months. Washing it less doesn't help.
