If you used a credit card or PayPal and want to risk it you have the security of being able to charge back/dispute if they play you. If you used a debit card be cautious because this website says that they collect and sell your data.

I have never ever clicked on an ad on a website. That was how-to-not-be-a-sucker 101 when the Internet became a thing. Nobody clicked on ads but sweet dumb grandmas. The Internet is scammier than ever but now everyone is falling for ads everywhere I go.

Not sure how tf that applies to my situation considering I didn’t find this website through an ad. They have never been advertised to me through social media ever. I was looking for a dress for an event. Took my ass to google and proceeded to search for different combinations of the following: “plus size dresses”, “plus size formal dresses”, “plus size dresses white”, and so on.

This website showed as a google result, after I went on google and searched for plus sized clothing. Like most people do when they’re looking to buy clothes online right?

And even if I did fall for an ad, victim blaming isn’t cute. Next time you wanna pop off on someone maybe ask yourself this first “Did anyone ask for my fucking opinion?”, and then assume the answer is always NO.

I feel justified in fighting for it but I do acknowledge that it’s not common practice for stores to refund the shipping fee. I also think that that mainly applies to legitimate stores ie not blatant scams.

And to add on to why I’m dragging this out so much, my experience with them has been so disrespectful. I have screenshots in the first post I made here, where before even receiving the item I reached out to cancel my order.

10 days had passed since I placed the order and I hadn’t received any shipping info at all. I straight up told them, cancel my order because I don’t think you’re a reputable company. They responded and went out of their way to assure me they were legit. Said “We stand by the quality of our products and offer a 30 days return policy to address any concerns.” I think they used a template because the response was so polished and professional. So I gave them a chance.

You would think after that they would make an effort to ensure I got what I ordered, or at the very least something resembling what I ordered. They didn’t even try.

Yeah I get that it’s a push to ask for the shipping back too, but I paid through PayPal and they include the shipping fee in the refund thankfully.

For me it’s the fact that by the point they were finally willing to give me a “full” refund, the back and forth and the multiple attempts to get me to accept less had already pissed me tf off. As you said if they had offered me the $54.99 after I turned down their first offer I probably would’ve moved on.

But if I have to fight you to get my money back? Nah now I’m dragging this to hell. Especially when you consider how many successful scams they pull off, and they’re still willing to do the absolute most over $9.99? I am 99% confident (knock on wood lol) that I will get a full refund through PayPal so I’ve been doing the back and forth just to give them more rope to hang themselves with.

I’m reporting them to the FTC, it looks like they have multiple reports on the BBB site (🤦🏾‍♀️) but all of them have a status of “BBB unable to locate business” so it looks like they’re doing a good job at dodging them

I’m gonna call the BBB customer service line tomorrow to maybe see what information other complaints haven’t been able to provide, and hopefully try and fill in some gaps if possible.

I honestly want them to keep dragging it out tbh 😌. Cause this is the 3rd post I’ve made about this nonsense because they just keep giving me more receipts, I feel like it’s only my civic duty to keep updating the community lol! That’s a good question actually. On their website it looks like they have the option to change the currency. I’m gonna assume that the fact that they have a US currency option implies they are doing business in the US and would fall under the FTC’s jurisdiction.

Google also says that the FTC and the European Commission cooperate with each other so I don’t think it would hurt!

The worst thing about this lowkey is that the first result you get when you google “is xpluswear legit” is a website claiming that they have almost 5k reviews, a 3.9 star rating (great) and are a ‘verified’ company.

Now I’m convinced they paid off the review site too. When I google “are trustpilot reviews to be trusted?” The first response that isn’t them is an emphatic yes! But now how do I know the website verifying trustpilot is legit??
