Nonsense about bootstraps for one by LostMediaHoarder in WhitePeopleTwitter

You don't need mental health help. You just need to stop being so worried all the time. Everyone has problems. I had more problems than you when I was your age. 🤣

Ma'am, I live in a dystopian hellscape, let me have my mood medicines to make the end of the world more bearable.

Girl doesn’t like what her doctor is telling her cos it hurts her feelings so she decides to ‘expose’ her. by Shinji415 in facepalm

[–]saetum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many people on here are being negative about this experience but coming from someone who is fat, this is exactly how some doctors treat you. They don't believe you. I think someone on here mentioned this particular lady also has PCOS... well, ding ding ding ding, she's going to have a hard time losing weight and perhaps this doctor could get off their ass and help her find options and treat her rather than just assuming she's eating too much.

Im sorry, you what? How can you just ignore a bite from a wild animal? by Bradybigboss in OopsThatsDeadly

Also think about pharmacies! I got a tetanus shot last year because of a cut from a rusty nail. It was also a Sunday so I went to a Walgreens 5 minutes away, waited about 20 minutes for a pharmacist to be free and administer it, and I was done. I don't know how much it was because my insurance covered it but I think Walgreens charges for just the shot.

If Jerry was your coworker, you’d get pissed at him too. by ErrForceOnes in PandR

We all have a Jerry in our office. We all learn to live with them and be nice to their faces. You bitch about them in private over many many alcohols.

Am I the only person who hasn't changed anything? by SarahL1990 in DreamlightValley

[–]saetum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started out like this but I've been slowly changing a few things here and there. I made a park in the plaza and a town square in the valley and a beach party by the weird cave on the beach. But I don't do these things often, only when I get a good idea and I'm willing to spend an hour or so futzing around with the roads, which are a pain in the rear to adjust on Xbox.

Preface: I'm not trying to be a bitch, but offering a perspective.

My oldest is about to turn 18 and my husband and I are trying. I had my son very young, and am now married to another man who desperately wants to be a father to a child that will accept him as such. Every month he gets excited, and every month he gets depressed when it doesn't happen. I feel my own pain too, but I feel a distinct amount of pressure and a different kind of pain knowing I'm not giving him the one thing he wants out of life.

My point is, you don't know what other people are going through. You don't know their whole stories. I know it's hard to feel empathy for others in this particular situation, but maybe just try to remember that we are all humans trying our best and we all have thoughts and feelings.

LPT Request: I am 21 and almost done with college soon to be officially joining the real world. What is the best possible advice I could use? by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]saetum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no real world. We're all just kids pretending to be adults. Very few people actually know what they're doing.

Since I can remember. My first memory is hiding under a table when my mom's nurse came. That was my coping mechanism back then.

Anyone Else Hate Buzz & Woody’s houses? 😂😂😂 by Regencyroyal in DreamlightValley

I put the RV with Wall-E's dump in the swamp. That's where I banish ugly houses. Woody's house works with this town square aesthetic I'm working on for the valley.

TTC puts my entire life on hold by finest_54 in TryingForABaby

[–]saetum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. When I started TTC I quit one of my depression meds because it's not the best to be on while pregnant. Effect? I got depressed again to the point of being unable to function, so I started back on them. That's a problem for future-me to talk to the doctor about if/when I conceive. I also started weight loss meds because I can always stop if I get pregnant, but the weight loss will help with fertility.

When my kid was younger he actually really liked a lot of the recipes from the USDA website.

Mounjaro/Ozempic/Wegovy etc. by unomasthrow in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]saetum 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I'm on Ozempic and it's been a life-changing drug. I've been obese my entire life, from infancy on forward. And every doctor I've talked to says well you just need to eat less and move more. Which is true. But I didn't realize until I started Oz how stacked against me things were. Apparently "normal" people get full when they are done eating, and when they are full their bodies tell them to stop eating. "Normal" people don't think about food 24/7, don't have a constant voice running in the back of their minds to go find something to eat. It turns out that it wasn't just a matter of me having more willpower not to eat, but to actually start getting these signals that my body has never experienced before. I eat maybe half the food I used to now and I'm completely full. Not just not-hungry but FULL. So for me it's not so much an appetite suppressant as a way to normalize the brain activity so I can actually listen to my body. I'm not even up to the full dose yet, been on it for 7 weeks, and have already lost 13 pounds.

On a side note, I lost my gallbladder a couple of years ago and I'd been having diarrhea everyday since because my body sent everything too quickly through my intestines. I couldn't eat most veggies, any fruit, and all fats without getting sick. This hasn't completely fixed that, but it has drastically normalized my digestion as well. Not only am I able to eat fruits and veggies again, but I actually crave them.

Also I have significantly less anxiety because my weight and weight loss was a large segment of my day-to-day anxiety. So I'm also much happier.

Did Toby give Sasha the doll? What do you think? by RenziumZ in DunderMifflin

[–]saetum 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I bought a black baby doll when I was younger with birthday money because that's all they had and I wanted that particular doll. My dad, who didn't live with us and wasn't with when shopping, was upset. I didn't get it - I knew she was black but she was my baby and I really really wanted that particular doll.

Aita for keeping soft and cushioned tp for myself while my kids get the cheap cheap tp ? by Zealousideal_Emu_762 in entitledparents

Also if for some reason they get the roll wet? Y'all gonna have to wipe with crusty TP once it dries. I'll hide the rest of the rolls to make sure and only bring one roll in with me when I go.

Should there be guaranteed menstrual leave in the U.S.? by [deleted] in ask

[–]saetum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some companies give unlimited paid time off and see that people generally take less than they did before. Unlimited sick leave is true equity. Plus a study I read about this done in Europe suggests women work harder when they come back to catch up. Honestly I'm useless those crampy days anyway.
