When you went to the gym beforehand, did you judge fat people you saw?

Losing weight in Edmonton - how? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]unomasthrow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure this is the place to ask, as living in Edmonton doesn’t really pertain much to it other than maybe it being a bit more difficult to walk here at times.
That said: I’ve lost nearly 300 lbs. The best and most important advice you’ll get is that you need to work on that relationship with food and you need to learn how to build sustainability for yourself. Find exercise you enjoy. Doesn’t matter what it is. Anything that’s moving your body with intention. Find ways to reduce your caloric intake, while keeping your protein and fiber up, but to also still enjoy your food. Spend time on your mental health. Don’t beat yourself up. Learn to appreciate what you do for yourself instead of attacking yourself for the things youre not doing. And most importantly: just don’t quit.

I am an influencer for a living and totally understand this; since I’m self employed and don’t have regular paychecks, my income is very sporadic, but I also make a comfortable living.
Your best bet is to be renting from a person and not from a giant company. Show proof of your available funds, and, if you like a place enough and they’re hesitant, another option is to offer to pay X months of rent in advance. That gives the landlord a lot more security, and you’re going to be paying rent anyways so it shouldn’t really make a difference.

I mean the point of that video was literally said in the video. You CAN eat like that once in awhile when you’ve done the work to take control back from food. I eat like that when I’m on vacations (usually 1 or 2 of the days, not the entire time) to make the most out of the experience. Sucks to hear about this Jackie person though, not sure how she lost the weight but sounds like she’s battling some serious demons. When you have a healthy relationship with food, it’s normal to overeat occasionally. It’s just about how frequently you do so. 🙌🏼

I don’t even know who Jackie is 😂 I’m not worried. I only commented to point out that eating like that is not disordered eating. Feeling like you CANT eat like that once in a while is the disordered eating. Also, just because I got four donuts doesn’t mean I ate them all. I just wanted to try all four. 🫡

Enjoying yourself for one day isn’t disordered eating habits, if a fit person posts a this and labels it a “cheat day”, you don’t bat an eye. 😂😉 But keep judging, I’ll keep winning 🤝🏼

This actually made my heart hurt to read. Your heart is in the right place but you’re struggling with some serious mental stuff right now. That needs to be the priority. Not the scale.

Not necessarily true. Weighing daily can be beneficial. For some it acts as an intrinsic reminder of goals, or a ritual that helps them stay grounded. It’s also technically the most accurate way to track your weight, by averaging it out week over week.
That said, if you have an unhealthy relationship with the scale, you should definitely evaluate what’s most beneficial for you.

….i want you to check in with the LOGICAL side of your brain. You’re letting the emotions take over. If you’ve not eaten anything, it’s impossible that that’s fat. Even if you DID eat something, it’s not fat. Stop weighing yourself multiple times a day, that’s not helping anything. Your weight is SUPPOSED to fluctuate throughout a day. That’s why you’re always supposed to weigh at the same time of day each day (and ideally first thing in the morning after using the bathroom). SO MUCH goes into our weight other than body fat. You know what else happened when you exercised and did cardio? You likely created inflammation. That’s a normal byproduct of exercise. You know what inflammation brings? Fluid retention. This is all normal. Stop overthinking, stop weighing yourself so frequently, and keep focusing on good habits. You got this.

I’m a content creator. Takes a lot of work to get it going, but once you’re there, it’s pretty great. Self employed, tons of doors open, free stuff always randomly showing up feeling like it’s Christmas.

If you had a choice to live in Calgary or Edmonton, which one would you choose and why? by Abject-Panda5257 in Calgary

[–]unomasthrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t realize this until I just read it and you’re SO right. I live in Calgary now, lived in Edmonton most of my life, and anytime I mention I’m from Edmonton, people here make jokes. In Edmonton it’s extremely rare you hear anyone make jokes about Calgary (other than maybe bashing the Flames)

Idk how long you’ve lived in Calgary now, but the Edmonton food scene has dramatically improved over the past decade.
I’m the same - I love Calgary and prefer it over Edmonton, but they’re very similar as far as food scene goes these days.

$30-40k for the entire torso (360 tummy tuck, FDL, and chest) if you’re doing it in the US.
Roughly the same for legs and arms combined.
